Einstein’s theories state that things can’t move faster than the speed of light. Einstein’s theory of special relativity states that if it takes a spaceship 2 weeks to get to a planet it will seem like it took 20 years to everyone else, but it states that the theory breaks down the closer to light speed you get. Two scientists have worked out a solution on how to reach velocities faster than the speed of light.
I think that this will greatly improve our ability to travel to other planets.
How do you think traveling faster than light speed will help our world?

yes, it sounds cool, but it's not physically possible. the only way to get somewhere faster than light is using a worm hole. they do exist, but not anywhere near us from a galactic standpoint... and even then it's more teleportation than constant travel at a rate faster than light.
this sounds cool how they could travel way faster now
Wow, that is fast, considering that lights turn on really fast. I couldn't imagaine traveling faster than the speed of light. I think it would help our world, because we could find things out about space faster.
I think traveling in the speed of light, sounds exciting. Than agian, many things sound exciting. I mean, i think that it would help traveling, on time. It just seems to me there are alot of "What if's" like this would be very dangourous. I think these scientisits seem intellegent, and would make it to where no one got hurt. I hope anyways. I guess we will let everything plan out according to how it's suposed to, and see where it takes us.
That would actually be pretty cool, traveling faster then the speed of light! How would we be able to do this though is what I am confused about.
Wow that all sounds really smart!! but yes paul, i agree with you on making it faster to travel through time faster!!
this sounds cool. it would help us do things faster.
I think that these guys are really smart and i think that it will be a boost in information for technology.
sorry to burst these scientist's bubbles...
there is no possible way to travel faster than the speed of light. steven hawking has calculated that traveling close to the speed of light will acctually be like a form of time travel, in that once you are moving that fast, you experience time slower than the environment around you. this is the scenario he set up.
-in the future, a monorail would be set up around the earth. this monorail would circle the earth over and over, going faster and faster until it reaches decimals away from the speed of light, but it won't go the speed of light because that's not possible. the people aboard the monorail would experience time so much slower than the other people on the earth that 100 years on earth would only age them one week. now you might think, "what if someone on the monorail tried to get up and start running forward"; the laws of physics, time, and space will actually slow this person down so that they don't break the speed of light.
