Today, Sunday, hundreds of volunteers gathered at a popular pumpkin patch in Liberty, Missouri. These volunteers gathered the leftover pumpkins and squashes. The Society for Saint Andrew lead the event which was named Squash Hunger 2013. The gatherings are to be sent to food banks and agencies from Nebraska to Texas. I think this a great idea and I am happy to see people trying to solve our nations hunger problems. Is there any negative side to Squash Hunger 2013? Do you think this will influence other food businesses in any way?

This is such a good idea! Finally someone figured out that they shouldn't just let the food go to waste. I really hope this influences other businesses to do the same. Maybe the number of people being hungry would go down.
I think it is good that they are using the pumpkins for a good cause. I hope this does influence other business.
It is way better to send these out to people that would use them than to just let them rot in the field. I dont really see any negative to this, and I think that it is a great idea.
I think it is going to push more buisnesss to give to the hungry but I think more buisnesses will do it just to get their face out there instead of just to help someone out.
I could not really see a downside to this, i think that it very possibly could influence other food businesses and make them donate food.
I think this is a great thing to do. I hope this do motivate other businesses to help out the people in need.
This is a great thing since people always have left over pumpkins and other festive food like things.
I like the positive story! Well done!
I do not think their is anything bad about this. It is a great thing that they are doing and hopefully will influence other food companies to help.
I agree nothing bad is happening here.
