LeBron James endorses Hillary Clinton

On Sunday, October 2, LeBron James endorsed Hillary Clinton in her presidential campaign. Lebron sated that he backs Clinton because she will build on to legacy of his good friend and current president, Barack Obama. James said, "I believe in what President Obama has done for our country and support her commitment to continuing that legacy." James will not attend Clinton's Ohio campaigning but he is looking forward to Clinton's support to his home town and all of the state and country. James support comes from Clinton's of children and their schooling, healthcare, and safety and the stopping of violence across the country for all Americans.

LeBron James is a star professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is a three time NBA Champion and a four time league most valuable player.

Questions:

1. Do you think endorsing Clinton will change LeBron James' fan base?

2. Does an endorsement from LeBron James help Hillary Clinton seem more appealing to a new set of voters?

3. If you were a famous person or professional athlete would you endorse someone or not?

My Opinion - I think that James' endorsement may change is fan base in the off season but when basketball picks up those fans that may have left will come right back. I think that an endorsement from James will give Hillary a better view from LeBron fans, certain basketball fans, and a lot of children. Though I like Trump I don't think I would endorse anybody because I think the country should decide not someone famous decide for them.

  • Good job overall! You commented on two different days instead of three.

  • I'm guessing it could have impacted his fan base, but if they are true fans of the game, they probably won't mind. I think it could possibly help Hillary out a little bit because it shows she is accepting by on of the biggest names in the country. Personally, I would just try to stay out of politics because of the drama, but if you really believe in someone then go for it.

    • I agree, I think only the hardcore political people will change their view of LeBron. I don't think the new supporters will be anywhere close to affecting the poles no matter who is endorsing who. I think famous people have a choice to endorse who they want but should keep politics a private deal.

  • I am willing to bet that he had fans that were for Trump, so he probably lost some fans. Some people look up to LeBron and they might follow him in who ever he votes for. I would not endorse anyone because it could either make me more famous or break my carrier.

    • I agree with his loss of fans but I think if will be a very small amount of people who leave or even care who he is supporting and endorsing. I think many people will realize that politics are about what you think is best for your country and should not be decided by someone who is famous.

  • No I do not think it will because there are other celebrities who do the same thing. I think it will make her more appealing to his fans who support and follow him, they will then in turn want to follow Hillary. I would fund charities and people in need, but not people who already have money.

    • I agree think eventually that the amount of celebrity endorsements will balance out and people will just vote through what they truly think. I think celebrities should stay out of politics and should focus on different things.

  • No, the people that love LeBron are very loyal

Yes, LeBron is someone to look up to for many people and if they weren't sure they might want to go with what he thinks.

I would endorse them if I felt that their cause was actually something that was needed in my country

  • I think that it could possibly change his fan base a little bit.  Because if some really do not like her they I feel will maybe not be his fans anymore.  I also think that it could get her some more voters because people begin to follow trends or famous people so if he likes her then some other people might follow him too.  I do not think I would endorse someone because I do not want to influence others.

    • I agree I think more of the hardcore political fans will change their lives around politics. I think the only people who will follow famous people into politics are the people that don't know what is happening and are just following them because they are famous.
