A letter found in the body of a passenger on the Titanic ship was bought for $166,000 at a British auction house on Saturday, October 21st. Alexander Oskar Holverson was the author of this letter and he was a first class passenger on the Titanic. The letter was supposed to be sent to his mother and is dated 13 April, 1912, the day before the Titanic sank. One line he wrote was, "If all goes well we will arrive in New York Wednesday A.M." In the letter, Holverson talks about how gigantic the ship is and even his encounter with the richest person alive at the time, John Jacob Astor. Another item from Titanic, an iron locker key, was also sold on Saturday for $100,000. Read more about this story here.
Questions -
1.) If you owned this letter, what would you do with it?
- I would probably either put it in a safe somewhere or hang it up somewhere special in my house. I wouldn't want anyone to steal it so I would more likely store it in some type of safe.
2.) How would you feel if you were able to hold and read the letter?
- If I was able to hold and read this letter, I might get a little teary eyed. Knowing that I am holding and reading the letter than this man thought was going to get to his mother would make me somewhat emotional.

Great job overall! Be sure to go in three different days to comment.
I would put it somewhere safe or sell it to a titanic based museum. I wouldn't tell anyone I had it because it would be worth a lot of money and they might try to steal it. I would probably be very sad if I got to hold it because it was supposed to be a simple letter to someones mother.
I agree that I would either store it in a safe place or sell it. Although I'm not sure if I would sell or donate it to a Titanic museum. I think it's a good idea to not tell anyone because I would imagine that at least one person would want to steal it.
1. I would probably keep it in a safe place or give it to a museum.
2.I would probably get teary eyed and I would feel good that I read a piece of history.
1. I would sell it for money to a museum .
2. I would feel privileged to discover this artifact from American history . It would make me feel more in touch with the past and a little sad it didn't get to it's destination.
I would probably just hang it up in a frame or something unless people were going to try and steal it. I would be nervous to hold something that old and fragile in fear that I would ruin it.
That's a pretty good idea to frame and hang it up. Although I would be afraid that it might drop and break or something like that. I would also be afraid that someone might steal it.
I like your idea of giving it to a museum. It would be awesome for lots of people to see this letter. Maybe people would even travel from places in the world just to see it. I would also have a little fear because of the value of this letter.
I would try and find his mother and see if she was still alive. I would feel happy and sad at the same time bc someone died that had wrote the letter. I would also give the letter to the mother of that person.
I like your idea of trying to find his mother and give it to her, but I would think she would be long dead by now. Maybe I would try to find his son or daughter if he had one or a grandchild even. I would also feel mixed emotions.
