So I heard this on the radio this morning and now I'm a little worried. Studies show that if you do not have more than 7 hours of sleep every night you can start to have some serious health issues. Your body starts to shut down and organs don't work correctly. This is mostly seen in adolescence and young adults.Because I am in the musical, for the past month or so I've only gotten about 5 to 6 hours of sleep each week night. When I get home I still have homework to do and I think that could be the reason why so many young adults are losing their necessary sleep. When we have to juggle jobs, school, homework, and extra curricular activities it makes sleeping less and less a priority. Not good!What are your thoughts on this? How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

I usually get close to 7.. depending on what's going on! That's not good though, cause there are a lot of kids that don't get that much sleep. Maybe school should start later!
I do also believe a lack of sleep isnt good for you. I think your body needs to rest and repower up for the next day. The more tired you get the more you body gets weighed down and cant perform at its best. Also the lack of sleep and make you sick. I think a good number of hours of sleep is between 8 or 9 hours. I know i need as much sleep as i can get!
Im pretty sure i'm fine in the summer and during christmas (oh i mean "winter") break but during the school year especially durring the week this might be a problem
I can' sleep right. In the middle of the night I will wake my self up and then i have to get up and get a drink and go to the bathroom. I only get about between 3-6 hours of sleep it depends on how tired I am.
Ok, I agree with you. Between school activities, the musical, homework etc, I haven't been getting as much sleep as needed. So I have been trying to catch up, which means sleeping for several hours during the day.
Well I work sometimes til like 10 on school nights so I don't get to sleep til like 11-11:30 everynight. Then the next morning I sometimes have to be at work at 6 in the morning so i'm getting like 5 hours of sleep some nights. On normal nights i get like 7 hours so on the weekends i sleep in till like 1 or 2 in the afternoon.
I think I usually get enough sleep. I think. Usually I try to go to bed around 10:00 pm and be sleeping by 10:30 pm for sure. Then wake up at 6 a.m. The weekends it's a different story though.
what's worse then play practice? having dance AND homework afterwords. Iv gone to bed after midnight every night this week and 3 out of 5 days last week and I am probably living proof that this is true ha noo voice, cough, stuffed up..truee story

I haven't heard of this and it's kind of scary to think about. I guess people should get more sleep including me.
