Kim Jong Un's Half-Brother Assassinated At Airport

In the terminal at Kuala Lumpur's airport Kim Jong Nam was poisoned by two attackers. The poison was so strong that one of the attackers started throwing up because of the toxins. South Korean Intelligence Officials believe it was North Korea who was involved with the murder. The toxin was produced in a state weapons laboratory and would be banned under international treaties. North Korea is suspected because they had never signed the international treaties. VX was the toxin used to murder Kim Jong Nam and it is so powerful that it only takes no larger than a few grains of salt to kill. North Korea has spent decades developing chemical weapons and VX would be one of them. The two alleged attackers are in custody, with another North Korean man, and there is believed to be 7 other suspects.

Questions:

1. Do you agree with South Korea blaming North Korea for the murder?

2. Why do you think nobody noticed the VX before it was used to murder Kim Jong Nam?

Opinion: I would agree with South Korea blaming North Korea for the murder because they didn't sign the treaties so it would give them the rights to create the toxins. I think nobody noticed the VX because it was probably hidden in a container were it couldn't react to anything or anyone yet.

  • Good job overall! All of your comments were done on two days instead of the required three.

  • I think that the people are really trying to get rid of Jong Un. These murders are just steps closer to getting him. I believe that it could be North Korea or even a rebellious group in South Korea. Just because it is made in  a lab doesn't mean normal can't make it either. When there is a will, there is a way.

  • I believe that it is possible that North Korea is behind this. Probably because no one knew what it was or that it was a chemical weapon.

  • I agree because one they didn't sign the treaty and North Korea has so many problems in their society that somebody could have retaliated against Kim Jong Un's family. Somebody might have tried to cover it up so that they could use a weapon like this for this specific purpose.

  • I think that it is a high possibly that North Korea did it because South and North Korea have had some problems with each other. I think they knew about it they just figured know one would be stupid enough to ever try and use it.

  • I am not sure whether I believe that north Korea is behind these poisonings. While the fact they didn't sign the treaty is slightly suspicious, it could be for a totally different reason.  If the vx was concealed in a travel container and looked like lotion or something I'm sure it passed the airport security. Also though I doubt it, they could have killed whoever checked their bags with the VX thus getting away with it.

  • Possibly there is no way to tell until somebody fesses up.

They possibly didn't go through the detectors so there would be no way to find the toxin.

  • I don't agree because that girl could of just been there at the wrong place at the wrong time but was blamed for it. Nobody noticed it because no one worried about it because it was for research and not many people outside of the government can get it.

  • Yes I do because they have been enemy's for a very long time and tensions are high between the two countries, plus the attackers were North Korean. The attackers probably had it in a sealed container to avoid detection.

  • Yes, they are in a type of war right now and they didn't sign the treaty so it wouldn't be surprising if they did kill him.

I think that nobody noticed because it was probably hidden so there would be no reaction to it.
