Authorities in Kenya appeared close to ending a deadly siege early Monday at an upscale Nairobi mall, where attackers have killed at least 68 people, injured 175, and were believed to be holding about 30 people hostage and it is also estimated that they have 50-200 hostages. Also it is said that 1000 hostages have been freed.
The person that was in charge of all this is named Al- Shabaab and the reason for it was he claimed responsibility, and said it was not backing down. In a message on its Twitter feed, the group said "all Muslims" were escorted from the mall before the attack.
The mall siege was the deadliest terror attack since Al Qaeda blew up the U.S. Embassy there in 1998 killing 213 people.
Why do you think these people came and held these people hostage? Also why do you think they killed so many people.

Obviously these people are trying to send some type of message. Public mass shootings and hold ups are usually results of revolting against something. Weather it be against the government or something else, this group is trying to get something across.
I don't get what is wrong with people. Why would someone want to do this? Even if they are a terrorist what makes people want to do things like this?
It is hard to say, sometimes terrorists just like to make a big attack like this in order to become strong and apparent to the public, or there is an underlying issue this clan is upset about and think the only way to get it solved is through a deathly attack. In either of those situations I think they killed so many people and held them hostage was just to make it a bigger deal; to show that they are not backing down and mean business. You would think they could come up with another way to prove themselves, than killing all these innocent people.
