This weekend on May 4th, the first ever disqualification was handed out in the 145 years of the Kentucky Derby. Maximum Security (the horses name) was the first horse to cross the finish line at the derby, but do to some objections from the other riders the officials reviewed the last lap of the race. Race officials concluded that Maximum Security caused some race-track infractions that caused some other riders to fall back. It took 15 minutes to declare the new winner of the Kentucky Derby to be Country House, who had 65 to 1 odds of winning. Donald Trump tweeted "The Kentucky Derby decision was not a good one. It was a rough and tumble race on a wet and sloppy track, actually, a beautiful thing to watch. Only in these days of political correctness could such an overturn occur. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby - not even close!"
Questions
1. Do you agree with Donald Trump? Do you think the officials made a bad call?
2. If you had bet money on the horse that was disqualified, how would you feel?

I didn't watch the race so I don't know if there was a obstruction in the race or not. I would have been pretty made because it had never happened before in history and then it happened for the first time and it being the horse I placed a bet on.
I do not know if I agree with him or not because I did not watch the race and I have no clue what even happened. I would be very angry and I would probably try and challenge the call. I would also go back myself and see if there really were any infractions.
I was not there to see what actually happened, but I could see how it could have been a bad call due to the wet track. I would have been outraged especially if it was a bad call.
Lol How does Donald Trump make his way into in every single debate known to man kind. Maybe he was betting on Maximum Security to win. One second we are talking about Kentucky Derby and then, "Oh and also, Donald Trump said-". I wonder if this story only became this big because Trump made a comment. I would agree that it was a bad call unless Maximum's rider intentionally caused this delay. If the Track was simply in poor condition, then they should have had a re-race.
I do agree becuase it was an unfare match that made no sense and yes they did I bet the horse did nothing wrong they probelly just dident want it to win
I would be proeblly pretty ticked off if i dont get my money back that i bet on
I do not know enough about horseback riding or the Kentucky Derby to be able to form a proper opinion. I do, however, believe that today's society is too politically correct. Everyone complains about everything and they get what they want. It is ridiculous, but society has made is acceptable. I think that the officials probably made the right call because that is their job. If I had money bet on the winning and then disqualified horse, I think that I would be bitter about it.
I don't have an exact opinion but I agree mostly with Trump but nothing is ever black and white-there are grey areas. I would go and get my money back but if it said no refunds I guess it's my fault, and I would have to accept the chances.
I think that Donald Trump has some truth behind his tweet. I agree that it was a bad call. You can't controll the quality of the race track, so they shouldn't have blamed another horse. They could have blamed him on purpose since he is a very good racing horse. I would be upset aout this call if I had put money into the horse.
I agree and disagree because the best horse did not win but the officials made the right call according the to rule book. I would be every upset knowing that I would have made some money, especially because Maximum Security was the best horse in the race.
