On June 4th, 1947, Kenneth Arnold, a pilot, was flying from Chehalis to Yakima and claims he saw "nine large metallic-looking objects" flying directly at Moint Rainer. Personally, I don't know if I would believe him at this point because it was the very first report of UFO's around the world. A few months later, Arnold heard about a crash near Mount Rainer and decided to go looking to earn a reward. Unfortunately, he found nothing, but on his way back home he noticed something in the air. At first glance, he thought it was just some geese, but later on realized that the object was reflecting an awful lot of sunlight and was moving a lot faster than geese can. After doing some calculations he came to the conclusion that the object was moving at a faster rate than sound. He reported this information as soon as possible, and everyone was astonished. "Everyone thinks I'm nuts, and I guess I would say it too if someone else reported those things. But I saw them and watched them closely. It seems imposible, but there it is." Arnold says in one of his interviews. After reading that quote, I believe Arnold because I don't think he would keep wasting everyone's time if it wasn't true. Many people doubted Arnold, so he bought a brand new camera just to be ready to take a picture if the "flying saucers" are ever spotted again. To read more click here.
Do you think you would have believed Arnold after his first report? What about the second?
I feel like I wouldn't have believed him from his first report because it was the first report ever. Although, his second report seems more realistic, which makes me think he is telling the truth.
If you were Arnold, how do you think you would try to convinve people of what you saw?
If I was Arnold, I would try to convince people that what I saw was real by going into detail and explaining everything I saw. I think Arnold did a good job of doing this, which is why his story became so huge.

Interesting topic choice and you did a good job replyng back to students. Be sure to include more of your thoughts within your summary. I am also looking for about three paragraphs.
Given it was the first report ever i definitely would have had a lot of skepticism but to a small extent i would of belived him. The second time i would have undoubtedly belived him a lot more. Now however i would believe anyone no matter how ridiculous their story is. If i were him i would be very cautious on who i tell. All cause if the wrong people know you could get put into a mental asylum at that time probably. i also would make sure to make it sound as logical as possible and tell it numerous times to convince people.
I dont know if i would have believed him the frist time and after the second i think that i would have beacuse like you said i dont think he would have wasted his time. I would just stright faced looking in the eyes and tell them to ensure they know im seriuos and not making jokes.
I agree that I don't think I would have beleived him after his first report but his second report seem a lot more realistic. I think I would try getting more evidence like a picture or something and try to prove that he saw them.
I don't think I would have believed him about either of them until they were backed up and had evidence, but I do agree that there may be life outside of the earth and whio knows if there is or not. I personally don't think I would believe him until I had proof.
I would not have believed Arnold after either of the reports. The photos that would have been captured would not been very detailed. Another thing to consider is the weather conditions at the time of the sightings, was the sky clear, was it cloudy, or was it foggy. Was it looked into if there were any weather balloons, airplanes, or blimps anywhere close to the sightings? There would need to be a lot more evidence for me to think the sightings were real.
I wouldn't have belived Arnold at first because it would've been the first time anyone has heard about them, but after the first report I probably would have a little beacuse I don't think someone would have gone through all the work he did to prove that he saw objects moving faster then the speed of sound. If I was Arnold I would've tried to convince people of what I saw eventhough people probably wouldn't of belived me.
I dont think I would have belived him from his first story but the secound story he reported had more details and was relistic so it made it more believable. I would explain everything that i saw happen and give as much detail as possible.
I would not believe him. There is a reason for seeing things like this. It might be a meteor or some plane that shouldn't be there. sometimes there are explosions that look like it. Arnold did what he could by getting it on video but I still believe in flying saucers.
I would not have agreed with arnold because UFO's arent popular back then and the other time I still wouldnt of belived him. If Arnold wants to convinve people than he needs to take them and prove it in real life. Sadly I dont think he will prove it there are just to many satelites and things in the sky it would be hard to identify.
