Judge Brent Kavanaugh was confirmed into the Supreme Court after his long battle over sexual misconduct. Kavanaugh was confirmed by one of the slightest margins in American history. Senators voted 50 to 48 to elevate Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh was sworn in by Cheif Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Anthony M. Kennedy who is now retired. For Trump and Senate Republican leader, the vote was a verification of hard-edge stategy to stick with Kavanaugh, even after the incident with Christine Balsey Ford. Christine Ford testified that Kavanaugh assulted her back when they were younger. Christine Ford did not succeed with her attempt. The 11th Admendment simply states "Innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trail..." This was a good Amendment to get placed because it helped Kavanaugh whith his situation with Christine.

Do you feel like Kavanaugh should have plead guily or innocent?
I feel that Kavanaugh should have plead innocent, like he did. He wouldn't have been confirmed into the Supreme Court if he was guilty. From the sounds of it, it doesn't seem that Kavanaugh did anything bad to be guilty.
What kind of benifits could Kavanaugh bring to the Supreme Court or what weeknesses could he bring?
Kavanaugh has two Yale degrees, He also has a 12 year history of decisions on a federal appeals court. So I think that his knowledge could potentially him with his decision making, and the fact that he alreat has experience is a very good thing.

Good overall but you chose a story that is kind of old news at this point and has already been talked about. -5
Well if he was guilty then plead guilty but if he is innocent then I feel like he did the right thing. It doesn't matter if hes not sworn in if he was guilty then he should have went to jail. Well I don't know of Kavanaugh. So I can't answer that question. I feel like if he won against this girl hes either a really good lier or he really is a nice guy just trying to live his life.
He should've plead guilty if he had done it. There is no evidence saying he was guilty, though, so there is no reason to plead guilty.
The weakness he could bring is not representing the majority of people properly. Then again, selecting one perfect representative from a massive country is nearly impossible. Republicans aren't the most popular candidates in national elections, though.
People might have just disliked him, regardless of background or party.
1. He did the right thing in saying he was innocent. There was no evidence, and he should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
2. He is a textualist, meaning he reads the constitution as it is written, which is excellent, but he is soft on repealing Roe v. Wade, so that's a weakness.
Yes, I totally agree with you. You should be considered innocent until proven guilty, but in this case Kavanaugh wasn't. Even though he was innocent in the end, she should have been innocent from the start, until he was proven guilty. But luckily he wasn't proven guilty and is now a member of the Supreme Court. Yes, Kavanaugh may have some strong spots, but he also has weak ones too.
If he's innocent you obviously should plead innocent. But they had no proof that he did it so he got voted in by a close margin 50-48. So obviously some people thought he was guilty. I guess he might work hard for America and do good things.
Yes, If you are innocent you should plead innocent. The only thing Christine had was her opinion and she didn't have enough evidence to support her claim. So, Kavanaugh go voted in. Yes, some people did think he was guily, but in the end he wasn't and is not a member of the Supreme Court. I believe he will be a hard worker and a good addition to the Supreme Court.
I don't know enough about the trial and everything going, or that went on with Kavanaugh to make or form an opinion on whether Kavanaugh is guilty or not. I think that he will bring the same things to the Court that anyone else could
It's okay that you don't know anything about this case. You just may not watch the news. But in this case Christine Ford was running trail about Kavanaugh when they were younger for assulting her, but she didn't have enough evidence to support her claim. So, Kavanaugh plead innocent and got his place in the Supreme Court. Yes, I also believe that he can bring the smae things to the Supreme Court, but I also believe he could bring new things to the Supreme Court.
I think that he should have plead the truth wether that be guilty or innocent. A man of his nature and his importance shouldn't be lying under oath anyway so I beilve he told the truth. I think that he would be just as influential as any other justice.
