Chicago police allege that Jussie Smollet paid two men $3,500 to stage an attack on him last month. Smollett had told police that on January 29 he was attacked by two people who yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him, tied a rope around his neck, and poured bleach on him. Jussie Smollett gained a lot of support from his "incident". Jussie Smollett currently faces a felony charge of disorderly conduct due to the false claim.

I think this would not only hurt the show's audience, but it would also affect the African American community and the LGBT community. People actually go through hate crimes and it puts a bad name to the communities because of false claims.
2.) Do you think people will take more caution into believing future claims and incidents?
I think people will take more caution. I don't really believe anything until I see evidence when it comes to incidents like this. You never know whether it actually happened or they're just trying to get more popular.

I don't think this will hurt the popularity of the show much, since he was not one of the major characters. I don't think this will make people be more cautious in the future; people will believe what they want to believe whether it is true or not.
