On Sunday, October 27, President Trump announced that the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was killed in a U.S. raid. According to Trump, 8 helicopters had approached the place where the leader was taking shelter and on arrival a new entrance was made in the building to avoid any traps. After our soldiers had enterred the compound, Abu Bakr was forced into a tunnel with 3 of his children. Upon seeing fighting was fruitless, he activated his suicide vest, which killed him and his 3 children. Although the death of this leader was met with joy by both parties, it also brought eyes back to the U.S.'s involvment in the Middle East. This is because not only did Trump not inform congress of the raid, but he also admitted to having worked with Russia and Turkey to get the leader (having gotten permission to fly planes over their territories). In the end, the death of Abu leaves many questions about the future of our fight with ISIS and our future relationship with Turkey.

How do you think the death of Abu will change the state of ISIS in the Middle East?
I believe that the death of Abu, although good, will not outweigh the negative effects us pulling out of Syria has on our war with ISIS. And with that I believe that ISIS will continue to grow if more is not done.
What do you think about Trump not informing top congressional leaders about the raid?
Although I think can see why Trump would not want to inform them (because of possible leaks), I feel that this is fully negated by the fact that he worked with Russia and Turkey, which would have also had the possibility of leaking the raid.

Good story choice and good summary! Students tend to shy away from topics that require knowledge of a topic.
I think that it should seriuslt effect them withouttheir leader thay are just scrambling. I think it was a decition that might have stoped the publication of the info from leaky sources
I dont really think that it will change to much other than that the people might be happy that hes dead cause he probelly dident treat his people right. I dont really think that its a big deal that he dident inform them of this raid because in the end they were able to kill a man that a was probelly dangeours to us and other countries.
I think that for now it will effect the ISIS group because their leader is dead, but I do think that over time the group will still get bigger. I think that it was smart of Trump to do that especially because trust is very important. If he doesn't trust certain people that he should just keep it to himself and make the right order.
I agree that the death of the ISIS leader will do something, but that they will continue to grow. As for trust, I agree that it is important. However, I don't think that Trump should have trusted Russia and Turkey, countries that are against what we stand for, over congressional leaders.
Well I don't think, I hope it would get better and our relationship will get better too. I somewhat see why he did it but there could've been a way how he could of say it though.
I disagree that we need to get a better relationship. ISIS is a terrorist group and should be dealt with as one, to try to improve our relationship with them would only give them what they want, recognition as a foriegn power.
