Is the COVID vaccine killing the elderly?

After over 25 elderly people have died in Norway from the COVID vaccine, health officials have changed thier advice on who should get the vaccine. They warned that vaccinating frail older people with underlying health conditions could be dangerous. On Thursday, January 14, 23 people did a short time after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Now the number has been updated to 29 as of Sunday, January 17. All deaths have been linked to the Pfizer vaccine, as it was the only available vaccine in Norway at the time.

I don't think it is very alarming. I think at some point we all knew that this vaccine would have problems, especially since it was developed very fast. I think if they find what underlying conditions caused these people to die they could change the vaccine a little or find a different way to fight the virus. However, I think that doctors need to start being more cautious about who they give the vaccine to. They probably should start doing individual assessments on the elderly and small children to test if they are cabable of withstanding the vaccine.

Do you think that doctors should start doing individual assessments for everyone?

Do you still feel safe getting the COVID vaccine.

  • Good topic choice but overall, your summary is a tad brief.

  • I don't think doctors should start doing individual assessments but I do believe there should be somse research done into any correlations between the people who died after getting the vaccine, like if they specifically had heart or lung issues. However, I think for the majority of the population, individual assessments are unnecessary. I would have no issue with receiving the COVID-19 vaccine because it has proven to work and I have no underlying health conditions.

  • I think that doctors should do individual assessments for those at risk, like the elderly, people with health conditions or young children, but for the average healthy person, I don't think that it's necessary. I still feel safe getting the vaccine because I"m young and healthy.

    • I agree, the assessments are important but not for everyone

  • I think that if doctors start doing individual assessments for everyone that it would take up a lot of time when the doctors could be helping other patients. I don't think I would get the vaccine until it has been out for a little while and if the side effects aren't that bad.

  • Yes, I think that doing different assesments on each age groups should be done. They should have age limits and age restrictions on who can recieve the vaccine. They should look at elderlys, children, yound adults, adults. They should look at these different age groups with great considersation that there could be fatal and harming risks with the vaccine. They should be doing more research on there patients before providing and giving the vaccine to them. With many people having health problems, minor or major, they should be considered greatly before being provided with the vaccine. I personally, would not feel safe recieving the COVID vaccine. I think they rushed together quickly to put together a "cure" so that this pandemic could shortly end. They should be doing way more research on COVID before coming out with a vaccine.

  • I don't believe individual assessments would be a good idea. I stand by this because once we were done with the indivual testing, the Covid 19 virus would have probably died out by then just like the spanish flu. Also I can garentee that many american's would not want to have the assessment done. In conclusion individual assement is time consuming and would cost alot of money.

  • I would'nt get the Covid vaccine because I don't believe the Covid 19 vaccine is safe. The Covid 19 vaccine is still very new and little is known about the long term efffects of this vaccine. From 1955 to 1962 the USA along with many other countries treated their polio patents with a vaccine only to find out in ten years that taking the polio vaccine would cause in a 70% chance of devolping mesotheiloma. In conclusion I would not get the Covid 19 vaccine.

    • I agree I think we still don't know enough about the vaccine.

  • I agree that most of us knew there would probably be complications in the vaccine. I think that they need to be more cautious about who they give it to and find out if the people dying really are dying because of the vaccine and not some underlying condition.
