Is it time to get rid of the $1 bill?

A Study has been conducted and it stated that if the United states were to stop making the one dollar bill and start making a 1 dollar coin that it could save tax payers $147 million each year. The big question is: What is 147 Million compared to money you can actually use.

I personally don't like the Idea they get rid of the one dollar bill. I wouldn't mind have a dollar coin except i always seem to loose my coins, therefore i would just be loosing more money.

I don't think they should get rid of the dollar bill. It just takes time and money to switch it to a coin.

I think we need to start getting rid of pennies, nickles, and dimes before we start worrying about the dollar bill. but eventually if they can make the change smooth and think this would be a good Idea

I prefer to have the dollar bills instead of the coin so I can keep track of them but I've definitely seen the coins before until I lose them

i dont think it would be much of a big deal. i mean yes one dollar bills are just useful in everyday life and have been around a long time, not to mention our first president is on it. But, at least we wouldnt be getting rid of 1 dollar completely, it would be just a coin.

seems pointless. Yeah it is saving money , but i think the government would have to go through a lot more and even if it was a really good idea, it would probably never happen, just like getting rid of the penny

I don't think they should get rid of the one dollar bill because I don't know about you but i don't put change in my wallet I just put it in my pocket and end up for getting about it. The paper bill is just easier to carry.

I think they should keep the bill because coins are lost so much easier and the dollar is used for purchasing so many things.

I sont think that they should get rid of the $1 bill. I also am constantly losing my change so i would be losing a lot of money as time wore on.

I think that it would be an okay idea. I don't lose coins very easily though, unlike other people. If it could save the US some money, I don't see what's wrong with it. It will still be worth a dollar.
