Pros of homeschooling. Homeschooling has proven to show better test scores and graduation rates. Homeschool children are 67% compared to 57.5% more likely to graduate from high school than public schools.Homeschooled kids also score 15% to 30% better than public schools. The reason this happens is that the teacher helps the student one on one and when you get to public school it is more unlikely to get that kind of help. Public schooling isn’t using the best resources. If you get confused at public school the teacher won’t go over it all again and they expect you to understand everything the first time they say it. The rate for children being homeschooled has only gone up by 3% in the last 5 years.
Cons of homeschooling. If you are homeschooled your whole life it takes effect on your social life and how you are around other kids your age. It could not if you live near lots of people that you could spend time with.
Pros of public school. Public school gives you a lot more people to connect with and will help you find yourself. Public schools let you branch out and try different things like sports.Public schools aren’t just helpful for the students, but they give parents time to do other things. When you get to high school you have many different teachers and many options of classes that could be offered. College classes at public schools are free or cheaper, but if you are homeschooled you might have to go to a public school to get the education that you need.
Cons of public school. Public school is not flexible. You have to miss school because you might have a doctor's appointment or an orthodontist and miss something important. When your sick school still continues without you, but with homeschooling you can make time when you feel better to learn what you were supposed to learn when you were sick.
Public school has a lot of good things, but so does homeschooling. Money and time can be a big thing on the parents for their choice for what they want. Not all parents can make time for their kid to be homeschooled and given a job and take care of other things. Public schools do cost more money, but can also help them learn more.
Do you like public school?
Do you wish you were homeschooled?

Good job overall Emily! I would like to see your sources to back up the data you are giving in your first paragraph. I would also like to see you start with more of an opening paragraph instead of jumping right into pros and cons. Also be sure to replyt back a few more times. This topic was done late last semester but it is the first time this semester. +2
I personally do like going to public school. I feel that it exposes you to a wide variety of different kinds of people. I do not wish that I was homeschooled. I would not have made any of the friends that I currently have. I also feel that I would lack necessary people skills that I gained at public school.
I think public schooling is better for kids because they get to develope social skills and make friends. I think it would be easier to learn at school because there are many teachers to cover many subjects. People could argue that its less safe, but being alone isn't worth it.
I think public school is better for students because they could learn stuff with friends. But I also see how homeschooling could be better for some students who get distracted by their friends easily. I think both are beneficial.
I do like public school but I only know public school because I have never been homeschooled before. No, I am glad that I am not homeschooled. Even though homeschooling could help you learn at your own pace, I think that making friends and having a social life is very important as well. That not saying that people who are homeschooled aren't social, I just would rather be in public school.
I have no experince being homeschooled but with the knowlege I have from hearing kids talk about it. I like having friends in classes and being active, social. If I were to be home schooled, I would feel like im missing out on all the fun with other people.
Home schools might be better than public schools. It allows for you to spend more time with your family. The only problem is you don’t get to see friends. Home schools also give you the chance to go outside and take time to get more sleep.
I was homeschooled from birth to fourth grade. Looking back at it, I didn't really feel seperated or lacking social activity because I was young. Looking back at it now, I think it would be kind of hard to be homeschooled and live a social life. I think that it really depends on the person's needs. I am glad I go to public school now.
I would much rather come to a public school than be homed schooled. The socials skills that you learn from public schools is not even close to being homed schooled. Public schools teach you how to be on time and to keep track of stuff. How to talk to abults and compromise. At home the only people you know are mainly your family. But in public you build relationships for the future.
I agree, when you are at home by yourself learning, you don't gain any of the important social skills that you learn at school, especially for younger kids. I would also get sick of being at home all the time and not being able to see friends.
