Every second at least 63,000 Google searches are made, and on average there’s 5.6 billion searches each day. Google is everywhere. Everyday we all go into a google document or look something up on Google. Google has been around since 1998, and everyday the company keeps growing and growing. Google has been buying and taking over companies. From the article, ‘15 Reasons Why Google Is Taking Over The World’ it said, “Google holds 56.6% of market share of all U.S. internet searches.” That is around 45% higher than their second competitor Bing.com. With no other competition they just keep building and building. Soon they will have control over everything we see.
I’m sure we’ve noticed when we look up something as simple as a recipe for cookies we will soon see ads for them the next day or even a few hours later. Many people think Google is using their data from every search and everyone word you’ve spoken to promote an ad. Google is controlling what we see and when we see it. People think Google will soon be able to provide you answers before you ask a question. For example they might show you the scores of your favorite team before you even asked. They might tell you when your Amazon package is arriving and where it is. Maybe even organize your photos by who is in them or where the photo was taken. Google is everywhere, and many of us haven’t realized how big the company truly is. They have electronics, Google Homes, Google Drive, Gmail, Google the search engine, maps, an app store, and much more.
Have you experienced the recurring ads? If so, what was it?
I have. I was on a shopping app and looking at clothes. Later that day, I saw an ad of the app and the same clothes I looked at.
Have you heard about Google trying to take over the world?
I learned about this topic briefly in business economics.
Do you think that is really what they are doing?
I don’t know if their motive is to take over the world, but I do think it could all be for profit.

Great topic choice and well done Aurora! Sorry I skipped yo uthe other day!
I have experienced these ads. I remember adding an item of clothing to my wishlist on one app and seeing an advertsiement for that same piece of clothing having an "exclusive" sale 10 minutes later on instagram. I think that google is trying to dominate the search industry. After all, that's the goal of every company, to become so big that you dominate the market.
I've kind of heard of Google taking over, but I've mostly heard of just the internet in general taking over not just Google. I see ads of stuff I have recently talked about or looked up all the time. I don't think they're trying to take over the world, they're just trying to prove they are a good way to find what you want.
The ads are always scary to see after you just saaw something like that before. I also don't think they are truly trying to take over the world, but who knows maybe that is what they are trying to do.
I see ads all the time and I think it's about them pursuading people to buy thier product. No, I have not heard about google taking over, but I did relize that the Google company was huge in what they do. I would say I don't think they would or are taking over I just think they wanst people to buy or look at their products.
That's true, all this talk could just be a misunderstanding, and Google just wants people to buy these products. Maybe Google truly just wants people to find the product they are looking for and move on to the next product.
I have heard some things on Google trying to take over the world, and I can see where people are coming from saying this. I do think that Google is a big thing that almost everyone uses, but I don't know if I would say it is taking over the world. I have also experinced seeing ads on things I had looked at or even talked about previously that day.
I agree. Sometimes I think that people are overreacting, but then other times I think they are onto something. Google is a very large company and has a lot of power over what we see because it's basically all we use. Who knows what they are really planning.
I also have experienced seeing ads for things I have looked up like clothes and shoes from the same brand or website I was just on hours ago. It's obvious that Google is growing rapidly and soon enough I feel that it is going to be the only thing most people use for their internet needs. It is kind of scary that if it got to a point where the only web browser was Google because they could really limit what we are able to see and what news comes out. I personally don't think that it would get that bad but no doubt they are taking over the internet world.
I agree with you. They are growing very fast and other search engines aren't able to keep up. Also the busniesses who are paying Google for advisments are paying a lot of money while the small businesses can't pay those high prices. I aslo don't think they could take over the world, but they could take over the market place.
