Dr. Anthony Fauci has been the main advisor for what to do and not to do during the pandemic, but could his research have been a major cause of it? It sounds completely crazy and like some far fetched, right wing conspiracy theory. However, there are some undeniable facts that seem to back this up. From the sounds of it, this is not the first report Fox News has done on this topic, meaning they probably found more information(true or not) if they were willing to publish another report on it.
- To start, it is a fact that Fauci had labs conducting research in Wuhan, China with the SARS virus on bats. Also that the U.S. government was funding the National Institutes of Health(NIH), who were a major part of this research. This would mean that not only was Fauci and our country involved, but our tax dollars were what supported this research.
- Something that makes this theory debatable is that there’s no evidence that anything at this lab was bioengineered during these specific studies. Plus, it’s not been completely proven that the virus was man-made, meaning that practically any lab could be ruled out.
If we think about this, it kind of makes sense. Right before COVID, there was talk everywhere about the world being overpopulated and scientists were panicking. Could it be possible they created this to control the population? And why was Fauci the immediate face of safety for the virus? There are multiple qualified doctors, but he was the one that was chosen. If he was researching the SARS and caused this, of course we’d want him to guide us. He’d have inside information, not want the whole population to wipe out, and he really hasn’t made any mistakes. Don’t you think someone dealing with this for the first time would have some slip ups?
By no means do I believe this, but it does put up a pretty convincing argument. It’s kind of just something to leave on the back burner and ponder, although it's definitely something I consider a conspiracy. Even if it's real, we’ll probably never know. From the sounds of it, the government and the NIH are not releasing any information on it. NIH refused to give any kind of intel. We all know Trump blames the Chinese government, which means it’s a cover-up or that he truly believed it was China. It really just sounds like something from a cheesy crime show, but could it be a reality?
Do you think Fauci and our government were a major cause of the pandemic, or is it just a huge coincidence?
If so, do you think we’ll ever know?
In you opinion, is this theory is a conspiracy or reality?

Intersesting topic and great job Katie!
I think that it plays both ways with our government and Fauci. Trump could've put out a mask mandate earlier and our government could've prevented this many deaths while giving the scientists time to find a vaccine. But then again this is natures way of lowering the population and it is hard to stop so I wouldn't blame anyone just yet.
I feel that it wasn’t man-made in a lab. I think that it was a virus in a bat that somebody ate then somehow got the virus in their system then started spreading it to others. Therefore, I don’t think Dr.Fauci needs to be blamed for this. He tried to get into Wuhan, China and try to see what was going on but they didn’t let him go. Also I think China knew about the virus for longer than we knew. So that didn’t help the spread of the virus. Doctors have said that the way it transfers is just too perfect to not be made in a lab. I guess I don’t know what to believe, but I feel like it was just a person who got infected with some type of Covid strain from the bat. Then it just built up in their system and started to spread around the world.
I do not think that he or the government should be blamed because during the time they were under a lot of pressure and it was hard to tell if this was something serious or not (at the time they were figuring this out), and I think they did not want to cause a panic if it did not end up being serious, but it did become serious.
I think that Fauci could have done it, but I don't think he actually did it. I think if he did do it we will find out at some point. I think someone will tell if he did it or not. I think this is just a conspiracy and not real at all. I think its kinda far fetched and sounds like something out of a movie.
I do not think he or the government is to blame because and they had so much pressure and it is almost impossible to fully stop the pandemic and hard to figure out everything to protect from the pandemic and it is going to adventually spread.
I don't think they're a major cause of it I think that they didn't know it was going to hit the U.S. this hard and fast. I think that this is a reality for some people but I think that people don't understand that they are doing whatever they can to help us through all of this havic and worry that everyone has.
Exactly. I think Fauci and the professionals are truly trying to help out with what knowledge they have. I really doubt that they were involved. It's just some another way people were trying to throw the blame around.
I don't think that fauci is to blame on all of this and the government included there is nothing to blame on them, everyone else puts a lot of pressure on them and they blame everything to them. I am not sure if we will ever know truly if this is a coincidence or not. I think that this is a consipracy.
I definitely don't think that the COVID-19 virus was issued by the government because that's kind of an insane thing to think about. I wouldn't really consider it a coincidence either because most doctors and scientists would have told us to do the exact same things that Fauci has been telling us to do. I think this is a huge conspiracy and is far from the truth.
