Is Doug McDermott ready for the NBA?

We all know that Doug McDermott is great, but is he great enough to play in the NBA? The 6'8, 22 year old plays for the Creighton Blue Jays, and its no secret that the game revolves around him. He has nearly mastered how to play the game in college but can he perform in the next level? He has proved to us that he has unbelievable range when he shoots the ball and has all the moves in the book. Something that makes him stand out is how relentless he is with out the ball, he is unstoppable. But, people are saying that he is lacking athleticism. He has the skill but can he make the plays that take more then skill on the NBA floor? He's not fast or overly quick, he's not aggressively physical and he doesn't get much lift or elevation. Even though he is lacking those qualities is is a spot on shooter. Should he be drafted as some who is going to spread the floor or someone who is going to come in and do everything?

I love watching Doug McDermott play, he is exciting and intriguing. When he plays he leaves it all out on the floor. He inspires to many young athletes to work that much harder. I believe that he will go big cause he works hard, and it pays off.

Do you think he will perform well in the NBA? Do you think he has that athleticism that the scouts are looking for? Will he play with the same intensity he has been?

  • I'm sure he will make it to the NBA and do fine. I doubt he will be the star player right away or at all, but he will be a good player for whatever team he plays for.

  • I feel like he will be good in the NBA but he isint the next LeBron. if he does anything he will pry play with more intensity

  • I think that he will do fine in the NBA, and he doesn't have to be quick or fast in the NBA because they dont even run and he can dunk so he will be okay. Nobody plays with the same intensity in the NBA they are getting paid Millions of dollars, they dont even care if they win.

  • I think that he will be drafted, and I am sure he will be able to perform well for any team. I don't think he will stand out in the NBA like he does in college, but I do think that he has a successful basketball career ahead. He does work hard when he is playing, and I'm sure, if he gets the chance, he will do the same in the NBA.

  • Ya I think his time of getting all the attention will end soon, cause everybody will be as good and if not better then him.

  • I think if he is given the chance he will perform at a high level, but the NBA doesn't have very many white guys in the league. I'm not trying to be racist here but the NBA is dominated by blacks and all their talents.

  • I think if he is drafted he will do well. He may not be the stand out athlete he is now, but he will have a positive affect on any team.
