Cloning may seem like something far into the future that we will never see happen, but that is far from the truth. Many scientists have already succeeded in cloning many organisms, from fruits and vegetables to cows, dogs, and even monkeys. The fact that we are able to clone living animals consistently is astonishing. While cloning has led to many great medical discoveries and advancements, there are of course debates on whether it is ethical or not.
The first animal to ever have been successfully cloned was a sheep in 1996. Cloned from the cells of a 6 year old sheep, it’s birth amazed many, but frightened others. Some thought that this cloning was an incredible milestone in science and medicine which could possibly be used to clone and regrow damaged tissue in plants and animals, or even humans. Eventually, it might even be used to cure diseases like cancer. Some people have even used it as a way to get back deceased pets, like cloning cells from a dog’s hair to eventually get an identical dog.

On the other side of the spectrum, many people believe that cloning is unethical and should be stopped. Whether people think this due to religious beliefs or just think it is morally unacceptable, they agree that cloning is very unnatural. When the first sheep was cloned, it developed arthritis and a lung disease, making more people question the morality of cloning. The fact that some clonings are unsuccessful and cause the result to have some genetic deformity or die is considered cruelty by many.
I personally think that cloning should continue to be researched and experimented on. We could use cloning to help prevent or cure diseases and advance our medical abilities in this day and age, but also work to make it safer for whatever is being cloned.
What do you think? Should we continue to experiment with cloning animals? Do you think that it is ethical? What could be some benefits or consequences of cloning?

I can see cloning being helpful in the future, but continuing with this could definetly lead to a lot of problems in the future. Although this also very harmful to the animals which is etichally wrong in today's world. I believe that this is wrong, but throughout history a lot of advances have come to us with some collateral damage.
I could see how cloning could possibly be helpful for advancing medical sciences like you sais, but I don't see any other ethically valid reason to clone animals or humans. If cloning animals is just going to harm them, I don't see the point in even trying it. Of course, scientists could perhaps get better at their techniques and make cloning safer and better, but I don't see why it's necessary.
I think that cloning, whether it is ethical or not, should not be pursued because it has no practical uses. The cloned animals cannot reproduce and have genetic disorders which cripple them. The biggest motivator for cloning would be to create more desirable animals, but because of their inability to reproduce they cannot be used for that either.
I think that cloning is pretty cool but also dangerous as well. I think that we should continue to clone animals but wait for a whiile before we do human. Some benefits of cloning could be makeing more better people espically for wars you could keep on cloning and cloning to get a bigger army and double it. some consequences are defects or a bad mutation.
I think this is a cool idea, but I do not think we should do this with humans because I believe everyone is unique because that's how God made you and that how it should be. Some benefits could be if you got a cow with good genes you could keep cloning it, but cons would be that market would lose money because people are not looking for a cow with good genes and just buying the "clone"
I don't think that cloning humans should ever be a thing. Everyone is unique for a reason. I think that it is cruel to experiment on animals when there is a possibility of being hurt. However, this is big for scientific discovery and advancement, but I don't think that cloning should become a big thing that everyone does.
I don't know about cloning entire humans either. I agree that the risk for cloning animals going wrong could be cruel, and we should only clone them for emergencies, like if an endangered species is about to die or there is a food crisis.
I agree with you that cloning could be very helpful in the meical world or maybe in the science world. However, it could definetly be used in the wrong way. I don't think that that would ever happen just becasue it would have to be watched very carefully.
I agree, if cloning does become more efficient and mainstream, people could use it in some wrong ways. I think that could be a reason why cloning isn't as popular among the scientific community right now out of fear of what it could eventually be used for.
I think that cloning could be very useful in the medical field. Obviously, something like this needs expansion in research and experimentations, but I think it could be very groundbreaking. I don't think that cloning should be used just for the "reincarnation" of deceased pets, and I don't think that cloning should be used for entire people.
