In July of 2018, an 8-year-old girl from Sweden found an Iron Age Sword. Saga Vanecek was visiting her summer home in Sweden. While playing in the water, she pulled something out of the lake, thinking it was a stick. Soon she realized it was a sword and ran in up to her father, who told Jönköpings Läns Museum about his daughter's discovery. Experts reported the sword is as much as 1,500 years old, meaning it is from the Iron Age. The sword is 33 inches long and very well preserved for have being in a lake for so long.

How the sword got to be in the lake many years before is still an on going search. Where do you think the sword came from??
I think the sword is from the Iron Age, and was lost or thrown in the lake for a reason we will never know. It was covered in dirt in the lake so it was preserved well, until it was pulled out by little Miss Saga Vanecek.
What would you do if you were Saga Vanecek and you found the sword?
The right thing to do would be turn it into the museum, but I think that the sword would be worth a lot of money so I may consider selling it.

Great job Jocelyn!
I think that the sword has some cool background from being from the Iron Age, events like a war was fought and other the years got covered up. Another thing could've been they purposely put it there to keep itsafe. I would probably sel it, or bring it to a museum.
I guess the sword came from people who lived there in the iron age and maybe it fell off a ship or someone lost it in a fight and through the weather it got covered with mud and dirt so nobody found it until now
I would show my parents what I found and ask them what to do with it, probably we would also give it to a museum after we would find out how old it is
Yes, my guess it was dropped in the water, but was soon covered by mud under the water. Until 1,500 years later, from erosion and lower water levels when the sword could finally be found again. Finding something like that would be amazing, and I would want to sell it to a museum so others could gaze in awe of the magnificient sword that I found.
I think that the ground where she found it was dry and then the swored was dropped and soon a lake formed there and then she came apon it 1.500 years later. If I found the swored I would google it and see what I can find on it first and then keep it for a little while then try to sell it.
That is very likely, maybe the lake has just appeared or grown over time. The sword could've started on land where it was dropped and then eventually be covered by the big lake that takes up the area where the sword was found.
I think if she found the sword from many years back to sell it. Obviously it is worth a lot of money and may could of never been found without Saga Vancek swimming and finding it.
Yes, if I were her, I would want to sell the sword. I would try to find a museum who would buy the sword from me so I know the sword will get the proper care it needs, but I would also be getting paid cash for my amazing discovery.
if i found the sword i would first cut stuff up like i was playing fruit ninja then i would clean it up, make it look nice and spiffy then sell it for a good amount of money since its so old.
I am not sure how well you could play fruit ninja with the sword because it is very ancient. Pieces of the sword might start breaking off of it if you're not careful enough. I would also let the cleaning of the swords be left to the people you sell it to because they would know better on how to clean the sword and take care of it.
