How would you feel letting felons vote after they are done in prison? Iowa and Kentucky are the only two states that permanently bar felons from voting. Just this month, a poll was taken in Iowa which showed that 2/3 of Iowans are in favor of letting felons vote after prison. Whether a person was male/female, Democrat/Republican, urban/rural, did not seem to matter. An issue that does not seem to be addressed is whether the felon who is no longer in prison would also have to pay off all of his fines before being allowed to vote again. Governor Reynolds is in favor of felons being allowed to immediately vote because she believes in second chances.
1. After a person in Iowa has served his time in prison for a felony, should he once again be allowed to vote?
2. If Iowa amends its Costitution to allow felons to vote after prison, should that person first have to have all fines paid off?

Good topic choice Cass! Be sure to capitalize key words in your title and also be sure to include your personal thoughts within your summary. You did reply a lot but most of them are quite brief. Keep in mind that they will not count towards your 25 if they are too short.
I think that as long as a person has learned his or her lesson after being in prison for a few years should be allowed to vote. It isn't going to make a huge difference, and they have the right just like everyone else in this country. It wouldn't really be fair to keep someone from voting just because of their past.
I think that everyone has a right to vote even if you are a felon. I feel like it would be better for the government that way. If Iowa were to amend the constitution, I think it would be better to have all of their fines paid off.
I agree. I think before anything, felons should have their fines paid
1) I am really not sure. I think that if you have spent your time. I think that you are still a human being, and I think that you still have your rights. I think that you still should have the right to vote.
2) Maybe. I think that might be a good idea. If they don't do that , they can't vote. No one is taking their rights away. I think that this is a good idea, and I think that this should be possiable.
I like your answer. Felons are still people and deserve their rights
I also think that. It’s better to have everyone bot than just have half of the population.
I think that every person should get a say in our government regardless of their horrendous acts. I think that imany people might misconceive felons voting rights, they most likely think that felons will vote for the most corrupt candidates that are running. I think that it would only be right if the felons did pay their fines off first.
I totaly agree with your answer
I think it depends on what they were put away for. If they were put away for something really bad, I don't believe they should be able to vote again. The person definitely needs to make amends with whatever they need to.
