On January 21, a 42 year old woman, Jessica Boomershine, fell through a jail ceiling while in a holding room. The incident was caught on the surveillance cameras around the room. While Boomershine was in the holding room, she decided to try and escape while no cops were looking. The inmate took one of the chairs near her, slid it under one of the tiles above her and tried to escape, while other inmates cheered her on. The surveillance cameras had shown Boomershine disappearing into the ceiling, when suddenly, the tiles broke from under her. The cops ran into the holding room and removed her from the ceiling, causing her to fall head first into a trash bin. According to county jail records, she was charged with escape and vandalism. Kyle Lennon, her attorney, had declined to comment on the incident to The Associated Press.

How do you think the cops reacted when they saw what was going on?
To keep their job, they would have had to be stern about the situation and would get the inmate to a cell before anything else happened. In all honesty, I also feel like they may have let out a laugh here and there behind closed doors.
If you were one of the inmates watching this happen, how would you react?
I would be confused to be honest. I feel like people who try and escape from a place with cameras everywhere, there wouldn’t be any point in trying, but I would just watch from the side lines and let the cops handle it. Might even talk about it with the others.

They probably did what they where paid to do and arested her but I also think that they might have thought she was dumb for trying to escape a holding cell. If i was one of the inamtes i would just sit quietly and let her get what evers coming to her because trying to escape is a federal crime and she could be getting more time by doing so.
I agree with you. I think for the majority of the situation, they had to do their job and that was to make sure nothing else would happen, and the best thing to do was to place her in a different cell. I wouldn't know how to react and most likely I wouldn't say anything.
I'm sure the cops were surprised that she had decided to climb through the ceiling and she actually went through with it. If I was one of the inmates I wouldn't know what to do. I most likely would have told a guard, but they probably would think I'm a phsyco trying to plan my own escape out of the jail.
I agree with you. I think when the cops noticed her, they were surprised but also confused at the same time. I also agree with how they were surprised that she went though with the plan. I agree again. I think people don't take you as seriously when your in jail and they just keep on moving and going with the flow most of the time.
I think that they tried and get her right away, and see if she would need any medical attention. And if she does not take her straight to the cell. And find how she got up into the ceiling and improve the jail cell to make sure the incident does not happen again.
I agree. I think it would of been important to the cops that she got medical attention just to be sure she didn't hurt herself while making the attempt. I also agree with the ceiling idea. To make sure no one else would attempt to escape, it's possibly important for them to find a way no one else would escape.
I is funny that when trying to escape she fell through the celling and landed in the trash can. And if I were there I would do nothing because my sentence might last longer then it needs to be.
I agree with you. I also thought it was funny when the tried to escape. I was also a little confused with what was happening. I also agree with not doing anything to either help her or myself, because I would not want my sentence to end up being longer than it should.
They were probably nervous on what just happened and I am sure they knew someone was trying to escape because I feel like people try to escape many times. I would be scared for them because I am sure it would hurt and I wouldn't want to be pressed with more charges and stay in there longer.
I think that the cops might've had a laugh when they saw this, but they needed to keep their job so they had to charge her with vandalism and escape. Well if it's with my type of mindset. So I wouldn't do anything, I would just stay out of it. Minding my own business.
