On January 21, a 42 year old woman, Jessica Boomershine, fell through a jail ceiling while in a holding room. The incident was caught on the surveillance cameras around the room. While Boomershine was in the holding room, she decided to try and escape while no cops were looking. The inmate took one of the chairs near her, slid it under one of the tiles above her and tried to escape, while other inmates cheered her on. The surveillance cameras had shown Boomershine disappearing into the ceiling, when suddenly, the tiles broke from under her. The cops ran into the holding room and removed her from the ceiling, causing her to fall head first into a trash bin. According to county jail records, she was charged with escape and vandalism. Kyle Lennon, her attorney, had declined to comment on the incident to The Associated Press.

How do you think the cops reacted when they saw what was going on?
To keep their job, they would have had to be stern about the situation and would get the inmate to a cell before anything else happened. In all honesty, I also feel like they may have let out a laugh here and there behind closed doors.
If you were one of the inmates watching this happen, how would you react?
I would be confused to be honest. I feel like people who try and escape from a place with cameras everywhere, there wouldn’t be any point in trying, but I would just watch from the side lines and let the cops handle it. Might even talk about it with the others.

I think they were probably both confused and amused, especially considering she didn't consider the ceiling could fall out from under her. I would just watch it, knowing she'd probably get caught, and I wouldn't be surprised about the ceiling collapsing.
I agree with you. I would be confused when I'd find out why she would do something like that, but also be amused hearing the story. I would also just sit and watch the whole thing happen, because I'd pobably know what would happen, considering the ceiling isn't always a good choice to make.
I think that the cops obviously reacted how they are paid to and put a stop to her escape. If I were one of the inmates I would be entertained by what is going on and probably even laugh. I wouln't try to stop her because frankly, that's not my job.
I agree with you about the reaction of the cops. That is their job to prevent things like that from happening, and it was important to make sure she wouldn't try anything like that again. I would also be entertained with the situation that was happening. It's not everyday you see something climbing through a ceiling.
They would probaly laugh because they failed at escaping and fell though the ceiling
i'd be so confused on whats going on and really just let it happen
I agree. It's hard for inmates to escape these days, knowing that there are cameras everywhere you look. I also agree on your reaction to the situation. I'd be comfused and would question the inmate as to why they thought it was a good idea.
The cops were most likely laughing because of how dumb she looked. Now she's in bigger trouble than she was before. I would not be an inmate because I would not be in jail but if I saw this happen I would mess her up while she was climbing and laugh at her on the ground.
Agreeable. I think cops were laughing on the inside, but they once they were together somewhere else, they probably bursted out laughing. I would sit there and ask why, because there is not point in trying to escape, especially through the ceiling,
like usual i think the cops got mad and then grabbed her. but i feel as if they couldve moved the trash can when she fell. that could of caused some sort of injury. but i dont know whey they try to escape when there are cameras everywhere. like nice you just gave yourself away because you didnt cover up the camera and she did it right infront of the camera as if they wouldnt see her.
I agree. I think the cops wanted to make sure they had a hold of her to make sure she didn't try to escape another time. I agree with the camera situation. I said this before in another comment, and basically, why would they try to escape? There is no point when everyone is basically watching you.
