Inmate Caught Falling Through Ceiling

On January 21, a 42 year old woman, Jessica Boomershine, fell through a jail ceiling while in a holding room. The incident was caught on the surveillance cameras around the room. While Boomershine was in the holding room, she decided to try and escape while no cops were looking. The inmate took one of the chairs near her, slid it under one of the tiles above her and tried to escape, while other inmates cheered her on. The surveillance cameras had shown Boomershine disappearing into the ceiling, when suddenly, the tiles broke from under her. The cops ran into the holding room and removed her from the ceiling, causing her to fall head first into a trash bin. According to county jail records, she was charged with escape and vandalism. Kyle Lennon, her attorney, had declined to comment on the incident to The Associated Press.

How do you think the cops reacted when they saw what was going on?

To keep their job, they would have had to be stern about the situation and would get the inmate to a cell before anything else happened. In all honesty, I also feel like they may have let out a laugh here and there behind closed doors.

If you were one of the inmates watching this happen, how would you react?

I would be confused to be honest. I feel like people who try and escape from a place with cameras everywhere, there wouldn’t be any point in trying, but I would just watch from the side lines and let the cops handle it. Might even talk about it with the others.

  • Well doen overall but all of your comments were done on the dame day. Reply on three different days next time.

  • I'm sure the cops were surprised that she had decided to climb through the ceiling and she actually went through with it. If I was one of the inmates I wouldn't know what to do. I most likely would have told a guard.

  • If I were one of the inmates, I would just sit their and wonder how stupied can someone be, because they literaly fell through the floor and cause all of the cops to know where she escaped, I would make jokes and probably laugh about the whole situation

    • I honestly agree with you. For someone to try and escape when they are being watched almost 24/7, really makes you wonder why they would even try something like that. I would probably laugh too and ask why they thought it was a good idea to try something like that.

  • well, the cops would probably alert other people to prevent the escaping of a criminal, then try to apprehend the prisoner and try to protect the outside world from a potential threat to people and the outside world.

    • I also agree with you. Alerting people would be one of the safest things to do just incase. You don't really know when someone will try and do something to get even further away from where they are at. I also agree with what you said about the potential threat to the outside world.

  • If I was a cop watching her fall through the ceiling, I would be confused but would also have to do my job. So I’m sure they were kinda wondering what happened but I’m sure they’ve seen crazy things like that before. If I was one of the people watching I wouldn’t want to get involved knowing I would probably get caught anyway.

    • I agree. Since cops deal with a lot of situations during the long hour shifts, I think they would be used to what could possibly happen in the jail. I also agree with what you said about not getting involved. I think it's best if the inmates around the situation didn't get involved, knowing they could also get caught.

  • If I was one of the cops I would be very confued on why she was in the ceiling but then when she fell through I would have had a laugh. Also if I was one of the inmates I would have been chearing her on because that would have been crazy if she pulled it off.

    • I would also be a little confused if I saw someone falling through a ceiling. I would have also possibly laughed about it. I agree with you again about how crazy it would be if she pulled it off. Even though the cops may get angry, I think it would of been funny if I were chearing that person on.
