India’s Covid numbers are very high right now and there is no sign of them going down anytime soon. There are two new Covid variants in India right now B.1.1.7 from the United Kingdom and B.1.617 from India. Some people believe that this all got out of hand because people started to hang out with people again and didn't really pay attention to the Covid numbers. Another thing that doesn't help the spread of the virus is that only 1.6% of India's population is fully vaccinated. Also India hospitals are overwhelmed; they don't have enough ventilators and beds. They are even having to burn peoples’ bodies because the funeral homes are so overwhelmed that they can't keep up.
People from the United States are trying to help slow the spread of the virus in India . Between June and December 2020, in India, the highest number of cases in a day reached 100,000. The hospitals were overwhelmed when that amount of cases were coming through the hospital. So now India is having almost 400,000 cases per day. They would definitely need help from the United States and other countries to get through this surge. India thought that they were ahead of Covid so they didn't think they had to stock up on supplies. So once the numbers started to raise at a fast pace they didn't have time to get supplies. Therefore, India has now asked other countries to give them supplies since Covid isn't as bad in other places.
India's Covid numbers look very threatening to the U.S. because they are afraid that those vararients will make it to the U.S. If so, we will be in the same problem that India is in right now. However, the U.S. has more people vaccinated then India does so that will help to slow the spreading of Covid. Also I'm sure the U.S. will make sure that they have enough supplies at all times just in case something happens like it did in India. Once this surge passes, I’m sure that India will try to get prepared for anything from now on just in case some other countries need help just like they currently do.

If India didn't get ahead of itself by lifting the mask mandate and thinking that they had herd immunity, they wouldn't have this problem. I bet after the covid cases go down. Then they will have herd immunity because everybody has had it. We can't get cocky with corona because something like this will happen.
I agree that if India had just opened up slowly then they wouldn’t have as big as a problem. I agree that by the end of this surge in India. India will probably have herd immunity since almost everybody in India has had Covid. I agree that people need to stop joking around about Covid and start following the rules.
I think that what is happeneing to India right now is horrible. It's a nightmare. I hope that other countries have the decency to help them. I have seen videos on the news of them having to creamate people in makeshift creamatoriums because funeral homes are so overwhealmed.
I also think what is happening in India right now is terrible. The hospitals and funeral homes are so overwhelmed right now.That they can’t take care of people and don’t have anywhere to take them when they pass away. So then they have to burn them in a field beacuse there is no place for them to go to.
I think it would be very hard to slow the surge because it is very populated with people. So therefore I feel it would be hard to control. I think it's gonna take a while for it to go down due to the large population, but I feel like if they followed a good protocol it could get under control fast.
I agree that it is hard to keep everybody healthy since different families live with each other. I agree that it is going to take a while for the number of cases to go down in India. However I think it is possible if people just follow what the CDC of India is saying to do.
I believe that there were spikes all over the world and everywhere else has struggled and dealt with the great impact of covid but so far, just about everyone has come out on the other side and I suspect eventually, so will India. With the help from other counteries especially.
I agree that every country has had a bad spell of a high amount of Covid cases. I think that we are hearing about India’s high case amount. Since the cases are really bad anywhere else. I agree with other countries help India's Covid numbers will go down eventually.
India could have definitely done more to slow the spread of the covid-19 virus by wearing masks more social distancing in public and other things like sanitizing. India's covid cases will go down eventually but if that will be soon or not I do not know.
