A surprise during the 1,000 mile race for King and Zirkle. The Iditarod is a 1,00 mile race from Anchorage to Nome. Two Iditarod mushers ("drivers") were on their way to Nome, but going through Nulato. Demoski, who had a night out drinking was on his way home attacked King and Zirkle
It is said that Demoski hit Zirkle first, He repeatedly attempted to hurt and harm her and her team. The snow mobile had turned around multiple times and came back to her several times before leaving.
Close to Zirkle but 12 miles north was King. Who was hit by the same snowmobiler. The snow machine revved up and pointed at him. One of her dogs dead, and 5 injured.
Neither of the mushers were injured

Questions:
King was a 4 time first place winner, she lost 1 dog and now is running with 11. How would you react if you lost one of your "winning" dogs? Why?
What do you think is going through the minds of Zirkle and King when Demoski(the snowmobiler ) was near them?
My opinion: I would be upset and maybe a little mad. Not because it was a good dog. But because somebody would do that. I would be scared because he obviously has more power than you do, you have 16 dogs and he has a snowmobile, what can you do protect yourself?

Good but be sure to reply more!
I would be very upset because my chances of winning went down, and because it's really sad to lose a dog. I'm sure they were really scared and confused.
I agree it would be hard.
I would be very upset because it was a good job and I don't understand how people could hurt a dog. If I were Zirkle and King I would be very scared and the snow mobile is very big so I'm sure they were scared and wondering what to do.
If I lost one of my winning dogs I would be angry because you can't just get a another dog as good as your last. I bet they didn't even think anything would happen until the first dog was hit.
I would just be mad someone killed my dog on purpose.
they were probably thinking what is this crazy guy doing and what is he planning to do.
Well losing any pet at all would be hard no matter the situation. It doesn't matter if they were winning dogs or not you would still have deep sorrow for losing one. I think they were scared and wanted to get away, but couldn't because the snowmobile was just faster, and some of the dogs were injured so she couldn't go anywhere anyways.
I would be really mad and upset that someone would do this out of anger or at all. They were probably in shock.
