Last week and Idaho woman came to a shocking surprise when she looked outside to see her dog in a fight. She rushed out to break up the dog fight only to see that the other dog in this was in fact a mountain lion. Se quickly yelled for her husband to grab their gun so that she would not be attacked as the dog was. After this, 30 minutes later, the local wild life police came and they are now taking the mountain lion to see if this attack was caused by any disease.

Questions:
What would you do if your pet was being attacked by a mountain lion?

I would let my pet go, as much as it will hurt I would rather loose one pets life then to loose my pets and my own. Mountain lions are very dangerous and I would not like to be attacked by one.

Do you think that this was caused by a disease or was there another factor?

I think it could've been because of disease but it was most likely just the dog barking that attracted the mountian lion.

  • Overall, your summary is quite brief and you could have replied a few more times. Also be sure to capitalize key words in your title.

  • 1. I would probably grab a gun and shoot the mountain lion before it killed my pet.

    2. I think that the mountain lion just felt threatened and started to attack the dog to save itself.

  • If my pet was being attacked by a mountain lion I would probably grab a large stick and try to break up the fight that way. I do not think that this fight was caused by a disease. The dog probably aggravated the mountain lion by barking at it or something like that and made the mountain lion mad, so its first instinct was to attack the dog.

  • I have no clue what I would do because I love my pets but I would be scared of the mountain lion I would probably scream for help and grab some rocks and throw them at the lion as hard as I could. I think the lion just decided to attack the dog with no disease.

  • I would try to save them, unless it would be too late. It would depend on how big the mountain lion was also. I don't think that this had anything to do with a disease because a lot of animals don't attack unless they feel threatened, so the dog could have barked and attacked first or the other way around.

    • I agree Kennedy. Trying to save my dog from a huge mountain lion probably won't happen but if I think I  can do it I would and least try to save the dog. It is posibile that the dog attacked first but it didn't specify.

  • I would do whatever I could if my pet was being attacked by a mountain lion, even if I got hurt in the process because I would rather get hurt than feel guilt later on because I didnt do anything to help my pet. I think that it was just because the dog was barking at the mountain lion because thats what most dogs do when they see anything really.

    • I'm going to disagree here Leah. Yes the guilt would hurt but in the end I would rather have my life. You have to understand how dangerous mountion lions are and how much stronger they are then us. I agree that the dog probably just started barking and attracted the mountion lion.

  • If my dog was getting attacked by a mountain lion I would first try to distract the mountain lion before my dog got hurt. If that does not work, my second action would be to call the closest wildlife police and grab a gun just in case the fight gets out of hand.

    • I like that plan. Do everything you can do to save your pet without hurting yourself. It's going to be hard to watch your pet possibly get hurt but in the end you're safe and you get to continue your life.
