There have been three recorded instances since the start of 2011 where there's been a couple and a dog. In one case there was an old woman aiming a rifle at a dog that was attacking some children, hit the dog once, an also hit her husband once, killing the husband. >.< Another instance was a man who was going to shoot his dog to "put it out of its misery" and accidently shot his girlfriend, killing her. Why don't they take these dogs to the vet like normal people? Or is there a new trend out there where you use shooting a dog as a cover-up to kill your partners?

I understand if they didn't want to take them to the doctor because, maybe they couldn't afford it, but why didn't they at least tell their loved ones to get out of the way or go in the house while they shot it outside?? I don't know, but i would definately have better aim than that!! :P
uhm. I work at the vet clinic. If you want to kill your dog, please do not try to do it yourself. It does not cost $300 or whatever ridiculous amount you have in your head for euthination.
Also..if your aiming for the dog, why would you have your partner anywhere near the dog?
If there's nothing wrong with your dog then for crying out loud, give it up for adoption. We hate hate absolutely haaate killing dogs when the only reason is that the owner doesn't want it.
That's all I have to say. Animal cruelty is frowned upon.
All I can say is that some people will do anything to get rid of their spouse! (ever heard of divorce?) Killing a dog is just one way to cover it up and call it good...it's quite mean to do that to a dog though...
