Hurricane Manuel Hits Mexico

Disaster Strikes in Twenty-four states in Mexico. Three storms ravaged the country over the past week. Hurricane Manuel was the main tropical storm of the two that have demolished Mexico. Many homes and communities have been destroyed from this storm.

The death toll of these disasters has been increased to 110 people. That is almost enough people to make it as if a whole class had disappeared from our school. There is also many people that have lost their homes and that are missing from their families.

What are your thoughts on this?

  • I wish that there was a better way to warn people ahead of time so that not as many people would get injured or killed. It is a very sad story to hear.

  • I think that this is very sad. It is really hard to imagine one whole grade missing from our school. I just hope that everyone who was effected by this will find some way to work through this tough time.

  • We can't really control mother nature. If the people that lived there knew that the earthquake was coming, they should of evacuated quickly, but maybe they had no idea? Also, living near some ocean is a little risky. Hopefully the U.S could help them if they need for like shelter or food or any family that needs it.

  • That is a huge hurricane! That is a big number of people who died. That is very sad. What a disaster.

  • Yeah i'd have to say that the idea of church mission down there is a great idea!

  • If they knew ahead of time they should have evacuated the area better but I think that this is terrible! I feel for all the people who do not have a home or anything in their lives! Or even the ones who lost loved ones.

  • It is bad that this happened, but their isn't much to prevent the devastation or the destruction of buildings and towns. Evacuation can save lives  but there will still be a few deaths.

  • I hope these people can find some sort of shelter! And I hope the U.S. will be there to aid them as needed

    • Jess is right the best we can do is help them recover when everything is over!
