The former Starbucks CEO, Howard Shultz, officially said that he will no longer be pursuing a presidential bid. He would've ran has an independent which means that he would not be apart of the Democratic or Republican party. Howard Shultz's political views were very democratic, so many Democrats feared that he may take votes away from the Democratic presidential bid. Even though he's not running he still said "My belief in the need to reform our two-party system has not wavered." The quote means that he wants there to be more parties involved in the presidential race. Another reason, why he decided to stop running, was his back surgery. He was recovering, so he couldn't travel, or talk to enough people to stay relevant in the presidential discussion.

1. Do you think he made the correct decision? Yes or no and why?
I think he made the correct decision because winning the presidential race as an independent is basically impossible especially in today's political climate.
2. How big of an impact do you think this will have on the election?
I think it will have some impact because Howard Shultz would've taken votes away from the Democratic bid, potentially changing the outcome of some states in the election.

Great job Dominic!
I think he made the right dessision because it is impossible to win as an independent. I don't think it would have made a huge impact because he is rarely heard of by some.
1 - Yes, I think he made the right decision. In this election, we have to many canidates running and not that that's a bad thing, but someone who barely has any political expierience shouldn't be running for President. I'd say their are some very qualified congressmen and women running now that could be good Presidents, but we will have to see where the election goes next year.
2 - I think it will have slight impact, but very minimal. If we had been deeper into the election, say next July or so, things would be a lot different. We could've seen canidates move up in support and change how things look dramatically. However for right now, I'd say that a lot of people didn't know him as well and things probably won't change very much because of Mr. Shultz dropping out.
1.) I think he made the correct decision because most independent candidates don't even get more than 10% of the population vote.
2.) I think it will have very little impact because Howard Shultz could have easily taken votes away from the democratic party.
I think that in todays world if an independent canidate ran they wouldn't get close to 10% of the votes because America is incredibly split. Since America is so split, every vote is important, so any vote that he might've taken away from the Democratic canidate could make them lose a state.
I do think it is a correct decision that he dropped out of the election because If he isn't a republican or a democrat, then I think it would be harder to get elected. Being an independent is a lot less mainstream than siding with the republicans or democrats. I dont think it will have a huge impact on the election becauase thetre are still more people runnning for president.
I too think that you can't win the election running as an independent, especiallywhen you can't keep up your appearences due to an injury. I also think that if he kept running then we would be able to impact the election because some people may vote for him which could change the outcome of some states.
I think he made the wrong decision because if he thought he had a chance he should have at least tried. I don't think this will have much of an impact on the election because he already dropped out so it doesn't really matter anymore.
I disagree because if he kept running as an independent than it would be almost impossible for him to win, so it would've been a waste of money and time. I also agree because he dropped out so there is no way of him having an impact on the election.
Yes, I think he made the correct choice. Running for president would be very costly, and his views could have been counter-intuitive for the democrats. I don't think it'll make the hugest impact considering he wasn't incredibly popular already.
