I have had great-grandparents on both sides of my family that have lived to be over 100 years old. I have always wondered if I would live as long as them! Now I might be able to find out. Researchers in the United Kingdom have started a project. They plan to make a software that will predict your lifespan. They are going to use your age, gender, health and lifestyle to figure out an expected life span. Researchers will use data from about 3.4 million patients to help.
1. Do you think that this software would be accurate?
2. What changes would you make to your life if you found out if you would live longer/shorter?
I think that it wouldn't be very accurate. It might give you a better idea, but you could be in a car accident or die suddenly. If I found out I would live longer, I would just live my life like normal. However if I found out that I wouldn't live much longer, I would probably spend a lot of time with my family and go on a nice long vacation.
