Marjorie Hemmerde, 106, could even be accused of taking a toy boy - in the form of 73-year-old Gavin Crawford. Both live at a care home in Melbourne and first met three years ago. Miss Hemmerde says: "We just sort of melted into each other. We get along like old friends, the age gap doesn't seem to matter." and Mr Crawford says he has found his princess: "Marjorie is very outgoing and has good outlook in life," he said. "She is always very cheerful and appreciative and we laugh together all the time. I think we both have learned that life is far too short not to enjoy it."

it is so awesome that she has had a rare moment in her life, too bad it came so late

  • This is so cute! I'm glad that it happened though I mean it's a shame it came so late for them, but love is love, and I'm happy for them.

  • That's really cute but it's sad to say that it won't last that they won't last that long together.

  • Better to have loved for a short time than to never have loved at all! I think that this is sooo very sweet, and it shows that true love has no natural limits.

  • I think that's precious. Everyone, no matter what their age, deserves to find the love of their life. Unfortunately it came so late for them but its great they are together now. Good for them.
  • This a really weird thing that happened but i guess anything can happen.

  • Wow i cant believe that that actually happened but you never know.

  • That is great that she finally found the person she loves, but it is a little weird thinking that he is 33 years younger than her. Imagine a 55 year old dating an eighth grader.

  • This is so cute. It is never late for love.
