When you want to go to the Mars you need 6 months to go there and 6 months to come back because the Mars is 140 million miles away from earth.
For a trip that long, astronauts would need to set up a network of supply depots in deep space to refuel their spacecraft.
But how can they do that? One solution could be asteroid mining.
Asteroids can contain water, oxygen, precious metals and other elements that could be used to produce fuel and life support systems in space. In space are hundreds of thousands asteroids, ranging in size from large boulders to miniature planets hundreds of miles across.
The former NASA Mars mission manager thinks his company can do it in five to 10 years. And then the first people can fly to the Mars and see what’s on their.

Questions:
- If you would have the opportunity to fly to the mars would you do it and why?
- People speculate that there is real live on the Mars. Do you believe that it gives on Mars or somewhere else in the space creatures? Why?
- Do you think that the theory with asteroid mining works? Why?
My opinion:
I would never fly to the Mars. Even if I had the chance to. The thing why I wouldn’t do it is that I would be to scare going as an astronaut to the Mars. I couldn’t live for a year away from earth because you need 6 months to go to the Mars and 6 months back. I would be scare that the air in the space shuttle wouldn’t be enough I would think of so many things that I never could do it.
I think that there is live somewhere out in space. I am not sure if it is on the Mars but the NASA found water on the Mars so that could be. The space is endless and there have to be live somewhere else. I think the earth isn’t the only planet with live on it.
In my opinion the asteroid mining works. For me it sounds possible that you can get all the important things for fuel out of an asteroid. Until we know if it really works we need to wait 5-10 more years or longer.

Interesting story and well done!!
I think that this is really awesome. We've been wanting to put boots on the ground on Mars for years and we finally have a way to do that. This is really exciting and hopefully it works out the way they want it to.
Yeah, I agree. Everyone is waiting for that moment when the people are ready for going to the Mars. An it's an really exciting step in our humanity.
If I were given the opportunity to go to mars I would have to discuse it with my family first because there is the chance of not coming back. So if my family said they were proud of me and that I could go then I would.
I think that there are creatures out there and they are the saperior ones. There has to be there is so much evidence on it it is really hard not to believe.
Im not quite sure if it will or not because I dont know harldy anything about astroids so I couldent be the one to judge that.
That's brave of you that you would go to the Mars because I would never go there also when I would have the opportunity to.
If I had the opportunity to be one of the first people to go to Mars, I wouldn't do it because I'd be afraid to go somewhere no one else has been because I wouldn't know what to expect. I'd also be worried that the shuttle would malfunction and explode into flames on the trip there. I also don't think I'd be able to be in an enclosed space that small for 6 months, because I'd miss being able to move around and going outside. I believe there is a possibility that there is life on Mars, whether it's just micro-organisms, since scientists have found water on there which does give some hope for life to exist. Since the universe is so enormous and vast, the thought of there being other life on a planet other than Earth doesn't sound so crazy to me. I'm a little skeptical of asteroid mining as of right now, but I think that it could become a reality in the next 20 years with more research and developing.
Yeah, I think that there could be life on the mars because of the water they found. Or it gave me some more hope that there might is another live.
I don't think I Would be going to mars any time soon I don't think I would want to go out into space Its an infinite place I would probably be scared. But humans are normally trying to figure out the unknown. And the theory I wouldn't know what to think. I don't know it well enough to put my input on it.
I agree with you. As you said the space is an infinite place and I would be scared as well to go there. There is no ground under you. You can see the earth from the top I think this is pretty scary.
I'm not sure if I would go to Mars or not. I could see why most people wouldn't do it. It is a very big risk, but we humans are made to discover new things. Only 50 years ago we were talking about going to the Moon and now Mars. There could be life on Mars. Me personally I don't know for sure. I'm sure that the science behind asteroid theory justifies that it could work, but the only way to prove it does is to try it.
