With an upcoming election and the coronavirus pandemic growing in the US, some are considering mail ballot voting. There are a couple reasons why we might use mail ballot voting this year. Mail ballot voting is a good way to keep people from gathering in a single location, following the social distancing guidelines of covid-19 safety. Mail ballot voting is also convenient, so more people might choose to vote. Some don’t think this is a good enough reason to use it though. These people believe that mail ballot voting is precarious at best, and possibly a way to have the election be counted illegitimately. Of course security is a real issue. You might be interrupted by a family member attempting to change your opinion, or they could have removed your vote from the mailbox entirely.
Could Mail ballot voting be the way to go this year with everything going on?
would this election be more likely to be sabatoged if it is used?
Would you vote using the mail?

This is a great topic choice Daniel! You make good points in your summary but it is a tad brief. I also think you could have linked to an article that discusses it as well as this topic has been in the news a lot. With only one page of replies, be sure to reply to everyone.
I believe that mail ballot voting would be a bad plan because it would become easier for the votes to be influenced and changed by multiple factors such as foreign entities, parties, companies, and really anyone could just pluck, throw out competing votes or change them, then send in the letters.
I disagree. The USPS handles around 3.3 million tax payments each year. The election has less turnout than tax. If it's distrust in the post office. I do agree about the people throwing out your vote. For instance, if a terrible relative knows who you're voting for, they mich go over and check your mailbox everyday for your vote to try and throw it out.
I could see mail ballot voting happening, but I see some problems with it. I think it won't work as well. So many more things can go wrong like they never receive the mail ballot, or someone takes it from their mailbox. I can see the election being sabotaged by doing this. The whole country is really split, and based on what's been going on I can see this happening. Plus if everyone is saying masks work then just wear a mask to go vote.
Mail in voting isn't a new thing. The United States has been using a mail in voting, or "absentee voting", as early as 1775. This election mail in voting is even more vital to be an option with the ongoing pandemic and is epsecially vital for those who are at-risk (elderly, people with respiratory issues or other health issues). President Trump claiming that the election will be rigged because of the mail in voting is a false claim, since the U.S. has been using an absentee ballot system for a long time. If I was unable to vote in person for some reason, I would definitely vote using the mail.
I agree. Voting via mail is really important With covid 19. if everyone stays home to stunt the spread of covid, everything could go back to normal sooner. If people just did some research, they would've found the rich history.
I believe that mail ballot voting is the best way due to coronavirus because using mail ballot voting lessens the chance of someone catching the coronavirus, therefore making it safe to keep going to hybrid school.
I do not think that mail ballot voting is a good solution. I believe that this system could be sabotaged quite easily, and there are many people who would do so in a heartbeat. I believe that if an individual cares enough about voting, then they can make the trip to their local court house to do so. I understand that with the evolvement of the Corona Virus, elders may not want to do this. However, I think that the government could establish a more secure system than mailing our votes. Personally, I would not use the mailing system, as I think my vote could easily be altered.
While I believe your point is valid, I believe we should use mail ballot voting because the corona is still growing throughout the US. If healthy people go out, then they could catch the virus. What is deadly about this virus, is that is incubates for 2 weeks. If these healthy people brought the virus home, they could spread it even further, all without even knowing they had it. Though I believe that sabatoging the election would be a little more feasible, I doubt that it would happen. People trust the USPS with their taxes avery year. Why not their vote?
