Holiday Travel and Safety

We all know the COVID-19 pandimic is a worldwide issue, but we now face the issue of holiday travel. The CDC is recomminding people not to travel this thanksgiving and christmas. Traveling could cause an enormous spike in the COVID-19 pandimic. The risk of getting the virus or spreading the virus is very high. Grandparents or family members with an underlying condition could also be put at a higher risk for catching the virus.Airlines, restaurants, and other social gathering places have done a good job at making it so people are a little more safe when gathering. For example, airlines have been using HEPA filters to clean the air of germs on planes. Although it is very hard to think about not spending the holidays with family, it is also important to take into consideration your safty and the health of our world.

I for one believe it is important to keep loved ones safe and believe my own health is important. I also have sisters who work in the health field and have heard their horrifying stories of what it is like to be on the frontline. I will be sure to take extra steps in keeping my family safe this holiday and do what I can to help stop this pandimic. Click Here for more information.

  • What are your thoughts on holiday travel during a pandemic?
  • Do you plan to travel this holiday?
  • If you don’t plan to go anywhere, will you do any zoom calls or some type of communication with family?

  • Good topic choice and well done overall. I do think your summary could be a tad longer.

  • I think that holiday travel during the pandemic is ok as long as you are sure you dont have anything and that you stay masked up during the flight and at the airport. I dont plan to travel on the holiday because its really expensive but some time next month I will. If I wasnt I would do what I did last year and have a zoom call.

  • I think that travel should be kept to a minimum this holiday season. I think that if you are travelling you need to be aware of the risks and be sure you are not exposing others (like getting tested before or wearing a mask). I don't plan to travel much this holiday season. There may be some communication with family, but I'm not sure as of now.

  • I am traveling this holiday because we want to celebrate Christmas with my family. I think traveling during this time is okay, as long as you take proper precautions and follow the rules. If you are someone at risk, don't travel, but if you are not at risk that is completely your decision to travel or not.

  • Though I do not have any travel plans for the holidays, I will keep in contact with the relatives that I would usually have been visiting or been visited by. I will likely try to call over discord, Skype, or really anything that isn't the dumpster fire called Zoom.

  • I believe we should stay home and celebrate the holidays with our close family. If you look at European countries that have had lockdowns until the virus was under good control, you'd see a well functioning set of citizens, free from the burden of anti mask protests and most forms of social distancing. Of course they are getting their second wave just now, so expect another quick recovery.

  • I do not plan to travel during this holiday season, but my family plans to accept any invitations we might recieve. If people are truly concerned about getting COVID-19 they should stay home, including the immune compromised and elderly people. Heck, if they really want to be there but are still concerned people are welcome to wear a mask.

  • I personally think that there should be a few restrictions for traveling during the holiay's. I don't think that anyone should be deneid of traveling. Some people only get to see their family during the holiday's because that's when everyone has free time to visit.

  • I think that if people take the proper precautions the risk negligible but it is very hard to follow every guideline to the T. I personally don't plan on traveling but I will miss being around family this year but that is just another thing we must give up to save lives.

  • I think that you  can have go to your family holidays this year as long as you are safe because haveing it on zoom would not be the same as going and seeing your family that is what i think but if you are scared to be around people then dont be around people
