  • A man of the year usually wins the award by doing something amazing. Even after the war, he would have been eligible because he did something amazing. It was just amazingly horrid.

    Time defines the designation "Person of the Year" as follows: “The person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse.”

    Hitler isn't the only "crazy" person to get the award. Josef Stalin is "Man of the Year" the year after. The 2011 Person of the Year was "The Protestor". Here is a list of past winners:
