Hawaii Lava Flows into the Ocean

Lava from a vent in Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii began flowing into the ocean 7 miles away on Saturday. The volcano has been erupting continuously from its Pu'u O'o vent since 1983.http://photoblog.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/28/15507568-lava-flows-to-the-ocean-in-hawaii-creating-rare-natural-show?lite

  • I know volcanoes are dangerous but I think they are very interesting and pretty! I wonder if it going into the ocean will cause problems.

  • I wonder how much longer this will keep erupting. I mean it cant just keep forever. But I really like the picture, too. It reminds me how really cool nature and violent nature can be.

  • That is an incredible picture of lava and water colliding with eachother. That's what I call a very hot steam bath. Hopefully nobody got hurt during the lava flow and not much damage was given.

  • That's really cool that it hasn't stopped flowing for that that long!

  • I think this is pretty interesting. Its been erupting since 1983. Thats a long time. Hopefully no one gets hurt.

  • Interesting, I hope the fish swim FAST! or... Lava might flow so slow, that they don't have to swim that fast.
