A British grandmother was sentenced to death by an Indonesian court because of the most unthinkable thing that you would think a grandma would have done! She smuggled 2.5million dollars worth of cocaine in her suitcase to Bali. She told the court that she was forced by a gang, who threatened to hurt her children. Thoughts?

I think it is crazy that an older lady smuggled this much cocaine in her suitcase. I wonder how she even could get caught because she would be so unsuspecting of doing it. I dont think she should be sentenced to death though because i think they should investigate it a little more
I think they should have given more credence to her story. also the death penalty for a drug offense like this is insane. She might be guilty but I think it's more likely she was telling the truth. also there's no "A" in "sentenced"
If she was forced why didnt she go to the police, sounds like she is lieing
If your grandma is involved with cocaine smugglers in the first place you know something is wrong. How would she get involved with them?
That's a pretty strict punishment for something like that. Wouldn't the police need to investigate more before they kill someone like that? There's been a lot worse crimes that have happened, and those people weren't sentenced to death.
Wow thats crazy!! I dont necessarily think that death is the answer but i think that jail time defiantly is, and maybe rehab. Thats a lot of cocaine, seriously just crazy.. never thought i would hear a story like this!
I don't think she should be sentenced to death, but she should have a punishment of some sort, maybe jail time. If she was forced by a gang and just trying to save her children, then she should have minor penalties against her. But if she did it on her own time then she deserves something greater.
This is crazy!! She shouldn't be sentenced to death even if she did do this.. she really could've been threatened into doing it.. think about it. What if you were her and this gang told you if you didn't smuggle their drugs for them, they'd hurt your children? On the other hand, she could be a user herself, making her not realize how stupid this plan was. But I believe whether she smuggled the drugs or not, she shouldn't be put to death. They should stick to the prison sentence they started with.
I think that if someone really wanted $2.5 million worth of cocaine they would be insane. I would believe that she was forced to take it, but she could have wanted it. I think being sentenced to death is kind of crazy though not knowing the truth behind everything.
First off I'm pretty sure a gang wouldn't give a random stranger that 2.5 million dollars in that kind of a drug. They would only give it to people that they trust. She had obviously done something with this gang at a younger age that got her put in this situation. I'm not saying she was guilty but I'm pretty sure she could have done it by choice.
