Recently the USDA announced that they will be paying out an additional $12 billion to help assist producers who have been affected by the pandemic. This bill will not only help the producers who previously signed up but it is also allowing producers who may have missed the sign up to submit an application. The sign up has also been expanded to include contract growers. A contract grower is a producer who grows/feeds for a bigger company and is usually bound by contract. This is very important for farmers to have because they are a big reason we have what we have. Think of what it would be like if you went to the grocery store and there was no meat, no eggs no milk? These are just some of the foods that we take or granted knowing that when we go to the store they are there. Farming is a thankless job. The hours are long and it's not 8 hours a day, it's 24/7 365 days a year.
I understand the U.S. is in debt and some may think we don't have extra money for these types of assistance. The truth is that giving this money to farmers is the best thing for us and the economy. As long as they can continue to farm and produce we will have food on our tables.
I think that this bill will benefit thousands of farmers by giving them the additinal assistance that they need as they continue to battle through this pandemic. It may seem like a lot of money but the world runs on farmers and with this money going to them it won't only help them but help everybody else to. The pandemic is affecting everybody and I know some farmers would be ok without this but it is going to help them get more land and important things they need to give us more neccesary needs to keep us going everyday.

I think that they should get this bill. Our farmers do so much for us, they have to provide for our whole country and I can't imagine what they go through on a daily basis. I don't know if it should be less money or more money. I can imagine that COVID took a pretty good toll on them so I'm not exactly sure.
I think that they should receive this bill, the money that they'll get can make a big difference and it might help them if the pandemic affected them financially. Since their job is really relevant in our society it's important that they are able to be economically stable in order to produce.
