Lakeisha Williams is a Goodwill employee in California. She was searching through a box of donations when she stumbled upon a big surprise. In the box of donations was an envelope of cash, $10,500 to be exact. She was worried that someone might be missing the money and donated it on accident because it was such a large amount. She went to her manager, and the manager found out what to do with the money. The money is now in a holding account for 120 days. If the money is not claimed by the end of this time period it is considered a donation. The president of Goodwill industries will reward Williams for her honesty, if the money is not claimed, with 10% of the donation ($1,000). Do you think this a fair amount of time to hold the money? I think it must have been a donation because if I had $10,500 I don't think I would be leaving it anywhere by accident. I wonder why whoever left the money has not let Goodwill know that it was or was not a donation by now. Do you think they know that Goodwill is not sure what the intention of the money was? If they do why are they not saying anything?

Great job Maggie!
Obviously they didn't know about it or at least it doesn't sound like it. Also why would somebody just leave that much money sitting around I would have that in the bank or something.
I would be worried about it actually getting to Goodwill. That is a lot of money and some people would just take it.
I feel that is definitely a donation, but if you did leave money hanging around you would be looking every where and I am sure that they would have found it by now. It is impossible for someone to leave that much money.
I think they would have come back for it by now too. If i had that much spare money I would spend a long time trying to find it!
If it was in an envelope and left in the box, it might've been a donation. A very generous donation. It could've been an accident, but who keeps 10,500 dollars in an envelope?
Good point, who carries that much cash around? If it was stolen that would be terrible. I wonder why the person who gave the donation made it autonomous?
That is a good point sometimes I think she should be rewarded, but I also think you don't need rewarded every time you do the right thing.
I think it is a donation too, but I don't get why someone would donate this much and not leave a name or anything.
She might of not asked for a reward and her boss or whoever just offered it. I think she should get a reward for doing that. It's a lot of money and if she does get the reward then $9,500 is enough for the goodwill to take in.
