In Silicone Valley, at the headquarters of Sunflower Labs, scientist are inventing a new security system. They announced this new security system on Thursday that detects threats and also investigates with a drone. If you have a smartphone the drone sends you the video feed straight to your phone. The Sunflower Lab said they will release and start test early in 2017. The drone works by a lot of Sunflower Lab in-ground smart lights that watch over your home. The drone can detect whether or not your a human, a car or an animal. The drone uses intelligence to detect whether the disturbance that is made is harmful to you and your family. The website uses an example for the mailman. The drone recognizes how the mailman approaches the house and watches how long he stands at the door. But if the drone doesn't detect the movement as good it will push a notification to your smartphone and ask if you would like to see and investigate. If "Yes, I would like to investigate" is selected the drone will lift from its nest (off the top of your room/ or balcony) and fly over to the detected movement. The drone won't be detected because Sunflower Labs made the fans hum while it is in the air as it hovers over 30 feet over the object. The drone will then activate its two cameras as it sends you feedback to your phone. This will be a huge invention and will be at an average price so that most people can invest in it.

Questions
1.) Would you invest in your own drone security system?
2.) Do you think this invention will be huge and stay huge or will it be huge and maybe come to an end?
My Opinion-
I personally think that this is a cool idea and that it will be huge especially since smartphones are becoming very famous. Drones are also becoming very popular now but only to people that are pretty wealthy. I would personally invest in this drone security system myself. It is being made by a very successful business so there won't be that many malfunctions. Although if there were any malfunctions the business says that the drone will land and just turn off until a person comes to fix it so their won't be that many false alarms sent to your phone. So yes I would defiantly invest in this Drone Security System.

Great job Hayley!
yes i would defiantly invest in a drone. This Could become a big thing because it gives you eyes in the rest of your house without risking your own safety.
Exactly I agree. The drones gives you a good bird eye view without being in dangers way.
I personally think drones are super cool. I have seen some YouTubers make some really cool travel diaries with a drone. I think they are very cool, but for a camera? I don't necessarily know how well it would work. It's a cool idea and I don't think I would invest in them. Just because if I were to purchase a security system I would probably just purchase a camera because it would "crash" and fall to the ground and not work. I think it is a good idea though for people who like to try new things. I think it will be a big thing for awhile and then die down.
Thats possible. But like I said in many other comments that a regular camera can be easily spotted by a robber and easily disarmed. While the drone can fly 30 feet above the robber and they are dead silent.
No, I have a feeling this technology is going to be unreliable, I would just still with cameras. Depending on how well the device works, it may make or break how much money the company makes.
It is your opinion. But the drone will be more flexible than an ordinary camera as I stated before. The drone is able to move freely unlike cameras that are wired to your house they can only adjust a little bit. And if any robber notices the camera they could easily dissemble it or if they noticed the camera in the corner they cold easily hide their face from the angle the camera is coming from.
Yes because it would be better than just a plain old security camera that doesn't work as effectively. I think that it will be a popular system for security for many years.
I agree. This drone will be more flexible than an ordinary camera that a robber (if they are smart) could easily disable.
I probably would not invest my money into one of those. For one they make really good security systems and also there has also known to been a lot of issues with smartphones of every type so if you are in need of the drone and it doesn't work you are out of luck. I feel that people wont want these because cameras are doing the same thing and are probably less money. I think that it might go big for a while but i feel as though people will see their flaws and not enjoy the product anymore.
