Former Steelers Player Returns

A former Steelers linebacker(James Harrison) came out of retirement to join back with the Steelers.  He retired from the Steelers and was in retirement for about one year and resigned for a 2 year contract.  James is 37 years old and had to make a decision to play with the Steelers or the Tennessee Titans. But he felt as if he needed to go back to were he left from just over a year ago.

Why do you think he decided to join back into the league once again?

why do you think he decided to join the Steelers and not the titans?

  • Overall, brief summary and you didn't reply to any student comments.

  • It would take a lot of heart to go back because he is not the youngest guy out there. I would go back to my original team to if I had the choice because you already know the people and place.

  • He probably felt homesick from doing what he loves. He probably decided that he want to play for them cause that his former team and maybe their like family to him.

  • Because I am thinking he maybe missed it, because he retired and then decided maybe it was not time yet and he still wanted to play more.  He maybe went to play for them, because that was who he played for before.  So he knows what it is like there, and that he would not be making a mistake because he knows what it is like.

  • I feel he went back to the Steelers because he knows he could get a spot he wants and they'd still want him. Probably because the Titans aren't as popular or well-known as the Steelers, or because that's where he was a year ago, and he wanted to make sure if he came out of retirement, he'd get what he wanted in the first place.

  • He probably missed playing football, or he missed the money he got from playing football. I don't really know why he picked the steelers maybe its because they are a little more successful.

  • I bet he just missed the game, I know I miss the season as soon as a sport ends. It was pretty obvious that he would go back to playing for the steelers so he could get right back into the flow of the same defense.

  • He probably got bored and missed playing football and wanted to come back. Because the Steelers are beast and the titans are not good.

  • He probably thought that retirement was going to better than it was but he must have missed playing the sport that much. He probably chose the Steelers just because they where he left off, and he had been with them for a long time.

  • He probably just figured he wasn't ready to give up on his career and was still wanting to work with his team. He probably wanted to stick with the players that he knew and was more familiar with.
