Forever 21 Filed for Bankruptcy

The family owned company filed for bankruptcy when there became less and less people at malls. Forever 21 requested protection to stay in business but will close most of their stores in Asia and Eourpe and 178 stores in the U.S. In this year more than 8,200 stores plan to shut down and have already annoucned it.  Forever 21 will contiue to let you use giftcards, returns, and exchanges while in bankruptcy, experts urge you to use them while giftcards might get cancled. They say a significant number of these stores will stay open and operate like normal, and they do not expect to close any major retail places in the U.S. They filed chapter 11 bankruptcy which will allowe them to stay open and run businsess and pay back creditors over a period of time.

If they changed their style of clothes, do you think more people would shop there?

I believe that if their style follwed the latest trend it would becoming " the place to shop" becasue their style is very odd.

Do you think that they should try to fit to stay in business, or just give up? Explain why?

I honesty think if they tried and changed things that they could make it but the style they are trying to sell is not in any more and it they are going to stick with that then they should just give up.

  • Good overall but you should have replied more frequently.

  • 1.) I really have never shopped here before. I do believe that they are like the buckle and aeropostle. They all have the same style of clothing. I think that they probably will not come back in bussiness just because of this reason. They should have switched their style a long time ago.

2.) Honestly, I would stop trying. Like I said, they are copying way to many other stores. These stores are more popular than Forever 21. Like I said, there are too many stores with the same style, so I believe that they should have changed it a long time ago.

  • I personally don't really like clothes at Forever 21. Their prices are very cheap, and so you get very cheaply made clothing items. The clothes are mostly made for what people wear in California, you don't see many people in Iowa dressing like that. I think that if they have to change a lot of things that their loyal customers will leave therefore they should just give up.

    • I agree their clotheing style is made for bigger cities and living in a small town all outfits are usally the same concept. I also thing that the material of the clothes is very cheap and brakes easy which isn't worth buying.

  • I think that if they did make a new style of clothes they might get more cutsomers in the sore instead of online shopping. It might have been easier to close most of the shops because of the bankruptcy. I believe they would try to stay in busniess instead of giving up because it is a family busniess.

  • Changing their style of clothes that they sell in stores might bring back customers, but I think nowadays people just generally gravitate to the stores they know or just completely rely on online shopping. I think they should try to stay in business because Forever 21 is a popular store and people will come to it, there is just a lot of competition amongst clothing retailers that makes it hard for any store.

  • If they changed their style of clothes, do you think more people would shop there?

I dont think so, because as less shops you have less custumers you have

Do you think that they should try to fit to stay in business, or just give up? Explain why?

I want them to be in business, because they are giving people good products and makes easy life. The one who owes the business only can quit or be persistent and keep on fighting and i believe that if they dont give up they can go through everything.

  • I don't think filing bankruptcy would change their style, as the article says most stores will remain operating as normal. I think they should for sure try to stay in buisness as long as possible because Forver 21 is a very common cheap store for teens to shop at.

    • I also don't think changing their style of clothes would help them with getting out of bankruptcy. In my opinion, there is just so much competition amongst clothing retailers that its hard for all of the businesses to stay afloat and keep up with the constantly changing trends.

  • Im not sure if more people would shop at their stores if they changed the style of their clothes, but if their new designs are better then their old ones I think it would benefit them. I think they should definitely try to stay in buisness because that way they might be able to till make money, if they just give up then I'm sure lots of people will lose money and jobs.
