With Covid-19 around a lot of people think we have a lot more deaths this year compared to last year. And the years before, But this year doesn't have too many more deaths than 2019-2018. I personally think that the reason why people think there are a lot more this year is because of the pandemic. But the flu rate is down almost 76 percent compared to last year. The covid deaths almost equal the deaths of the flu.
In 2018 There were 2.8 million deaths without covid-19 in 2019 there were 2.9 million deaths without covid-19 as well. In the 2018-2019 flu season there were 35 million cases of the flu that had to go to the hospital. I think the flu season was getting worse and worse over the years and that's why the deaths kept rising . In 2020 the flu rate is down 2 percent. I think that is why the deaths are just as bad as last year.
In 2020 the deaths were 2.6 million in november that's almost 2-3 million less then the year before with only 2 months left. I think that everyone wearing a mask has decreased the flu rate and that covid isn't as deadly as the flu. I personally think that covid- 19 isn't as deadly as we all think it is, I think that the flu is more deadly than covid but since covide is causing a pandemic that we all think it is a lot worse.
Do you think the flu is more deadly or covid-19 and why?
Do you think that the world should care more about the flu then they do?
Do you think the deaths will hit the same number as last year ??

I think that the amount of deaths will be less because we are getting smarter and smarter everyday about this virus and many others and soon we will have a cure that will actually work and that people will trust if this virus stays around long enough. It really depends on if people want to stay safe or not, keeping themselves and others safe around them.
I think that the flu is a big part of the world this time of year but since covid people are going to assume its the virus. People dont really understand the importance of social distancing and wearing a mask and how much it can do for your safety and others.
I think that since the flu has been around much longer then covid-19 there is potential it is worse. But also since its been around longer the have shots to prevent you from getting it, I would never take a shot for a pandemic thats been around for almost a year and already have a cure for it.
I agree because people have actually found out how to actually try to prevent the flu until about a couple weeks ago people did'nt know what to do about the covid. Now that there is a vaccine people should be able to lower the death toll
Well they can both kill people but the flu has the ability to target more people and can kill anyone. Also corona virus only seems like a big deal because it is a global pandemic and we take more precautions than most other viruses because it is so big.
I think they both are very deadly. Both viruses have killed many people and put many people in hospitals. I think everyone should worry about both viruses, they both are not good to have and could kill you. Everyone needs to be save and try not to get either virus. I don't know if the numbers will be the same as last year but it's very possible.
I personally don't know which one is more deadly because there just isn't enough data to determine this. The deaths could possibly hit the same number as last year, but we just have to wait and find out whether it will or won't.
I personally don't really know which one is more deadly but I would think that covid is more deadly right now since it is really contagious. Covid-19 has killed lots of people this year, but I think there are both deadly. We also have vaccines for the flu because it has been around longer, so that's why I think covid is more deadly rn.
I don't know where you got your information but according to the CDC, they estimate that there were 34,200 deaths from the flu in the 2018-2019 flu season. there have been 318,000 deaths from covid this year that is just over an order of magnitude over the deaths from the flu in the 2018-2019 flu season.
I believe that the flu is more deadly than the covid because it has been for here longer. I believe that we should start to care more about eevrything in particular. I mean we kinda realized that there is a lot of major flaws in our health industry and in our overall economy.
