The CDC recently released an article talking about the "flu epidemic" that is hitting the US. There has been a total of 34 flu-related deaths in children during the 2018-2019 flu season. 49 states, plus Puerto Rico, have been affected by the flu. Since October 1, 2018, there have been 6,868 confirmed hospitalizations due to the flu. The CDC is recommending that everyone over 6 months of age should get a flu shot if they haven't already done so.
1.) Have you gotten a flu shot this year? If so, do you think it helps prevent it?
I haven't gotten a flu shot yet this year. I usually don't get them because I don't get sick often, but when I do, it's with a cold. I think that flu shots do help. They may not fully prevent it. If you get the flu after getting the shot, it more than likely won't hit you as hard.
2.) Do you think that getting vaccinated for sicknesses like this is important?
Yes, I think vaccinations are important. They prevent you from getting the sickness and spreading it to others. I think vaccinations are helpful to you and everyone around you. If you don't get the sickness, there is a slightly lesser chance that everyone around you will get it.

Good topic but your summary is a bit brief overall. You should have also replied a few more times as well.
I don't normally get flu shots because they tend to make me feel terrible despite doctors' advisory that they don't. I know they help because they help with some strains of the flu but Influenza A mutates so rapidly it's impossible to vaccinate for every kind.
I think vaccinations are important but to what end do they provide? Flu shots are only valid the year they're presented, and if you have to feel sick for a while and do it all again next year I think good hygene and a strong immune system are more beneficial.
I did get my flu shot this year, and based on past experiences I would say that it helps. I think getting vaccinated for sicknesses in general is important. I just think that some vaccinations are sometimes more harmful that helpful. I remember reported cases of chronic pains because of a vaccination.
I haven't gotten a flu shot this year. I haven't gotten them since I was 6 because I honestly think they don't do anything for you. No, because last year my mom got the flu shot and then 2 weeks later she tested positive for the flu.
I personally do get flu shots every year, and I do believe they help. I have never had the flu, and I think the shots are the reason for that. However, my brother has gotten the flu, but I think that more people in the family would have gotten it if not for the shot.
I have never gotten a flu shot, some people still get the flu and some people don't even after getting the flu shot so it's hard to say if it does work or not. I do know it's supposed to be put in your body so your body knows how to fight it. I think vaccinations are important an can help you stay away from sicknesses, but it doesn't always work for everyone.
I don't get the flu shot because every year I get it I end up getting sick, but when I don't get the flu shot I don't get the flu so for me it doesn't help. I think vaccines are very important and everyone should get them but the flu one is different on everyones body so how ever your body handles it is a factor so this is a vaccine that I say isn't as important.
For some people, it is very possible that flu shots have only negative effects because all bodies are different. I also think that everyone should be vaccinated for their sake and other the people around them. The flu shot is a completely different circumstance when it comes to people and their bodies.
I haven't gotten a flu shot in the last two years. I also haven't gotten the flu in the past two years so from my expierence the flu shot doesn't really impact me. I think it's important because if everyone is vaccinated than the flu will spread much less. Which means that less people will be affected by it.
No, I have not recieved a flu shot. I haven't even gotten the flu virus in a few years that I haven't been getting flu shots. I think it is important for younger children who don't have the immune system to fight it to get the vaccinations.
