Members of the Florida Sate football team were visiting Montford Middle School in Tallahassee, Florida. While they went to lunch Travis Rudolph, Florida State's Wide Receiver, noticed a boy sitting alone and decided to sit with him.

Little did Travis know, the boy he sat with had autism and usually ate lunch alone. Someone else from the lunch happened to notice what Travis did and snapped a picture. They also sent the picture to the mother of Bo, the autistic child.

The mother admitted that she did not know who Travis was, but was very touched by his act of kindness.

Travis' kindness is currently something that is going around the world. He said he wasn't doing it for media, but because he saw someone that needed company.

Questions:

1. Do you think Travis did the right thing sitting with Bo? Explain.

2.  How do you think Bo's mom's post got so many views?

Opinion

1. I really think Travis did the right thing. Sitting with the boy that was sitting alone really was the right thing, especially because he is such and "important" person.

2. Honestly, I think a lot of friends and family thought this was so cool so they reposted it. After more people were exposed to it, it continued to get re-blogged and became viral. I think it is super cool that this happened.

  • Nice, positive story! Well done! Be sure to hyperlink correctly.

  • I think he did the right thing because no one deserves to be alone when something is different with them that they can't control. I think the mother's post got so many views because it was attached to the story and when something is attached to a story everyone reads everything about it.

  • I think Travis did what he thought was right. I would like to see more people doing the same thing. No one should have to be and sit alone if they don't want to. People like seeing acts of kindness especially on internet. Unfortunately majority of people don't do those things themselves, only few people do. They might be too afraid or just unwilling to help others that are different and/or strugling. Maybe they are afraid of being labeled different themselves.

  • Of course it is the right thing to do.  No one should feel like they are all alone, and he just did something nice for him.  I think that the post got so many views is because the mother wanted to share what somebody did for her son.  Then other people saw it, and they kept re-posting it, so than finally the whole world is able to see it.

  • I feel that by him sitting with this little boy was the right thing to do. It just really shows people how some people are actually generally nice, and arent afraid to go and show an act of kindness. When things get out on the interenet things get out, it happens, but some peoples post really reach out and touch others hearts

  • I think he did the right thing. No one likes to feel alone and I could only imagine how excited Bo was that Travis came and sat by him. I think Bo's mom was happy this happened to her and she posted it and it just went viral from all the social media.

  • I think he did the right thing because the kid was sitting alone and he wanted him not to feel left out. I think the right people just kept showing their friends and family about this act of kindness.

  • I think he did the right thing with our know it was the right thing. He was just being friendly. I think it got popular because a kind act can take you a long way in life, you also never knows who's watching or going to tell someone. I also think helped to have him be a player at Florida state. but this small act must have made Bo's day week or even year!

  • Travis definitely did the right thing in this rare occasion. You can just tell that he's a good person and those are the kinds of people coaches are looking for. I think her post probably caught the eyes of the right people, and they started sharing it. From there, I think people just kept on showing their friends and family about this courageous act, and proving how such a small thing, can mean so much to the right person.

  • I think he did the right thing because nobody wants to be left out. I think it got views because kindness spreads no matter what the act was.
