The invasive burmese python is ruining the Florida Everglades in more ways than one. The invasive snake is killing huge amounts of prey and that is starving off the native species of animals. Florida is looking for people to come out and kill the snakes at a starting wage of $8.65 an hour. There is also many bounties to increase your pay for killing the invasive snakes. 50 dollars is added on to all snakes that measure to be over 4 foot long and 25 additional dollars for every foot over 4 feet. There is also a $200 bonus for snakes guarding a nest of eggs. 787 snakes under 4 feet were captured in the past year and there are many more snakes to be captured to save the everglades.

1. Would you fly down to Florida to save the everglades if you landed the job and why?
I would because my grandparents are moving down there and it would be such a fun time to kill snakes for a good cause.
2. Do you think they are doing the right thing by moving some invasive snakes and killing others?
I personally thing they should kill all the ones they catch because the ones that are moved will just start the same problem in a different place.

I think it would be fun to have a job like that where you are rewarded for the work you do and it is for a good cause that is helping the state of Florida. I think they should kill them because they are overpopulated and it won't affect the existense of the species if some of them are killed.
If it was my job I would have to follow through, but I don't think I would ever take that job beacuse I know myself and I know that I would have a hard time.
I think that job would be a fun job to do for extra money if i lived in florida. Of course its not to much money but that extra money could go towards a vacation or anything else you want to do but dont want to afford at that certain time.
Yes, I would, Florida is so warm and happy. When we went down for Disney I really enjoyed the weather, and if I could get a job where I don't have to deal with winters here in Iowa.
I agree that Florida is a fun warm place with a bunch of new things that Iowans cant do. I kinda like to deal with the winters because there is something about it being cold out and all snowy and cool looking and trapping and hunting is super fun.
No becasue I like snakes but not ones that could kill me there is no reason do die doing something that might kill you, I mean if you love snakes and would love to do that well have at it. Yes becasue what if a little kid runs into a deadly snake and get bit.
I somewhat like snakes and i am sure that there is a decent amount of safety equipment to keep the workers safe from the big burmese pythons. I am sure there is many people that dont care as much and want to take the risk of catching the snakes to save the everglades.
Yes because it would be a really fun job and if you get a lot of the snakes it coud pay pretty decent. Yes because there are so many of them if the don't do anything then they will just be everywhere and start taking food from many other animals down in florida.
I also agree that it would be a really fun job that would still pay pretty good. There is hundreds of the snakes in the everglades because they reproduce so fast and they are killing off the native animals and that means they need to get killed off in that area.
