The invasive burmese python is ruining the Florida Everglades in more ways than one. The invasive snake is killing huge amounts of prey and that is starving off the native species of animals. Florida is looking for people to come out and kill the snakes at a starting wage of $8.65 an hour. There is also many bounties to increase your pay for killing the invasive snakes. 50 dollars is added on to all snakes that measure to be over 4 foot long and 25 additional dollars for every foot over 4 feet. There is also a $200 bonus for snakes guarding a nest of eggs. 787 snakes under 4 feet were captured in the past year and there are many more snakes to be captured to save the everglades.
Questions
1. Would you fly down to Florida to save the everglades if you landed the job and why?
I would because my grandparents are moving down there and it would be such a fun time to kill snakes for a good cause.
2. Do you think they are doing the right thing by moving some invasive snakes and killing others?
I personally thing they should kill all the ones they catch because the ones that are moved will just start the same problem in a different place.

I would also consider flying down there to hunt the non native species and protect the everglades. It sounds like a really fun job and you would have some really good stories to tell people. I think they should get as many snakes out of there as they can cause the burmes pythons can reproduce so fast.
I probably would because I do not like snakes at all so I would want to go down there and kill them. Big snakes like pythons do not belong in Florida. I do think that they are doing the right move because by killing the snakes it will save many more lives of other animals.
I would because I think that we need to preserve the Everglades. I think that they are doing the right thing because those breeds of snakes don't belong in Florida, and when the snakes are brought here they killing off the animals that do belong in Florida.
In my opinion, I think killing the snakes off would be better than moving them to another place. If you kill the snakes you are helping solve the problem and if you were moving the snakes to a different place you are basically moving the problem somewhere else, and it would just affect the animals in that area.
Yes. I would love to help animals and the enviroment in anyway. It isn't a bad job to start with at that wage. I think moving them is a humane way of getting rid of them. They may start the same problem in a different place, but it would take them longer to. The snakes you don't end up killing, will reprodouce and eventually too much of them, starting the problem over again.
It is actually a pretty good job im not sure how many snakes they are catching in a day but if you find one snake every hour thats longer than 4 feet that is 320 for just one 8 hour day and that is really good
No, I would not fly down to the ever glades for this job. The reason I say this is because I feel I would lose more money making the move than I would gain from the job itself. Along with this I don't agree with how they're bringing in invasive species to kill the snakes. North America has never done well with invasive species, and instead of helping they could cause worse problems in places that they move to.
I also would not fly down to florida to kill some of the invasive species that got introduced to the everglades. I also agree that bringing snakes into to kill them will work then there will just be another invasive species eating things.
I wouldn't fly to Florida becasue I don't like snakes and I got nothing to do down in florida. I think that they are but don't let the one moving go because they can do the same thing in different states.
I also dont like snakes very much but it would be an easy job that you could get a lot of money for in a short amount of time. It would also be a fun job to have the oppurtunity to do and experience all the huge snakes and al the other windlife in the everglades.
