Tuesday morning hurricane Irma was declared a Category 5 storm with winds maxing at 175 mph. It is the strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean. The Capital Weather Gang said that Irma's track shifted and could possibly hit the Florida Keys by Saturday. Although the storms exact track isn't for sure they think it is very likely for the hurricane to hit Florida over the weekend. Many Floridians are already getting ready for the storm by preparing hurricane shutters, making plans, stocking up on supplies, and nervously checking the news. Scott, the governor of Florida, has sent out many warnings to keep everyone notified and directed 7,000 Florida National Guard members to report for duty Friday. He also stated how they are preparing and working as a community to be somewhat prepared.

Questions:

1) If you lived in Florida or somewhere near what are some precautions you would take?

2)Do you think Florida is doing a good job communicating on what to do? Why or Why not?

Answers:

If I lived near or in Florida I'd just pay a lot of attention to the news and whats going on around me and listen to what the Governor and others are telling you to do to help keep you safe. I personally think Florida is doing a good job communicating because the Governor is helping them by telling them news and keeping them updated as much as possible and telling them what to do for the best outcome.
