The City of Venice, Italy sits on the coast of northern Italy and has an elevation of 3 ft above sea level. The city has gradually been "sinking" do to climate change in the past several years and the sea levels rising. Recently however, the water rose much higher than usual and almost got new record highs. The water was just inches shy of reaching the record of 6ft 4in of water in the city. After delcaring a state of emergency last Wednesday, some Venetians thought it was to little to late for assisting with the situation. "I have no faith in local or national governments to changeanything," said Pier Giorgio Vedovato, who owns a watch dealership near St. Mark's Square. St. Mark's Square is at the center and is known for getting water damage. Some owners in the city say they are going to stay, but eventually the water will cause a problem for businesses.

1. - What do you think the Government should be doing to assist with relief in the area?
I think that they could send money their, which will make clean up afterwards faster. And maybe the interenational government could help with stopping global warming so that the water levels don't rise more.
2. - If you were a business owner, would you stay in Venice or would you leave for another city at a higher elevation?
I would stay for as long as possible, just because the hassle of moving all of your supplies and items of your business would take a long time and wouldn't be fun but in the end I think I'd move inland.

Good job overall Eric! Be sure to capitalize key words in your tite and you could have replied a few miore times as well.
I think that they could help but the rising water has happened beforeand it is probably just a cycle. I would stay as long as I could but I would leave if anything dangerous happened.
I think that the government can send money and stuff there but ultimatly the City of Venice is going to sink and/ or get destroyed by flooding. If I was a buisness owner I would try and save up so money and maybe even buy a small building so when the time comes that I have to leave, I can just pack up and do so.
I agree, I think that eventually if things don't change the city will ultimately sink and we won't be able to access it anymore. And yes, I also agree that being prepared as best as possible is super good because then if something major happens you can just leave if needed.
I think that they should have some sort of money given to people who have been affected directly by the water damage. They should probably figure some sort of way to stay higher than the water. No clue how that would go down though. I would leave venice to anotehr place because if your business is under water whats the point of selling things.
I agree, I think that with the technology we have today we could definately save the city and do something like what New Orleans does with their city. They have a wall that raps around the edge city on the coast at least that protects it from flood waters, because in fact New Orleans is facing the same situation.
Honestly, what is there that can be done to save Venice? The government can provide assistance for those who are choosing to leave and even some options for those who are choosing to stay. Although Venice is sinking, there are many tourists there that could be great for business. I would stay as long as possible because it is still a beautiful city and should be treasured as long as possible.
I agree, I think that if the city as a whole can't be saved then their should be some way to help the people who are looking to leave the city to get better business. And if they want to stay, then their should be money for them to help them when the waters rise.
I feel like the government should send money to help. If I where a business owner then I would move to some where with a higher elevation so I wont lose money.
I agree, their should be money set aside for people who want to stay in Venice, or leave so that they can get better business. And you have a good point of how maybe going to higher elevation would let you have better business and to keep you in business at all.
